[edit] Birthdays
Hi. I think you may be misinterpreting WP:BLP#Privacy of birthdays. That section of the policy is intended for "marginally notable people or non-public figures" — that is, people whose birthdays are not already part of the public record. Many of the people whose birthdays you removed recently were public figures — at least, public enough for their birthdays to be recorded on IMDb or other public sources. If a person's birthday is already published in other sources, there is no reason to exclude it from Wikipedia. It might be a good idea in future to perform a Google check for an individual's name and the word "born" to see whether the information is in other sources: for example, you removed Joss Whedon's birthday, but that's recorded in several other locations. Therefore, he qualifies as a "well-known living person [whose] exact birthday [is] widely known and available to the public." There is no need to remove the birthdays of such people.
If you would like more clarification about when WP:BLP#Privacy of birthdays does and does not apply, you can contact me on my talk page, or ask for assistance at Wikipedia talk:Biographies of living persons. Thanks. —Josiah Rowe (talk • contribs) 08:03, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
- Hi, I'd just like to reinterate what Josiah said above - including birthday details for public figures, particularly where such information can be found via a quick google search, means such information is ok to remain on the article page. Hope this helps. --Oscarthecat 09:23, 10 February 2007 (UTC)

- The advice on birthdays does not apply when an individual asks that it not be included. Wales has indicated on his article's talkpage that his date is incorrect and does not want it included. Please respect his wishes.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Ronbo76 (talk • contribs)
