[edit] Response to above
This IP address is that of an elementary school. I am not sure who is making the edits to these pages. It would probably be wise to remove edit abilities for non-logged in users accessing wikipedia from this IP address - however, it would be nice if users who are logged in through a user name could make edits. Thanks - The IT Guy (30 November 2007)
- I've requested more information at the Administrator's Noticeboard. I'll pass along any information I receive. ZZ Claims ~ Evidence 20:29, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
- We can't block an IP on our end unless there are clear and repeated violations of policy, per the official blocking policy. However, here's what I recommend. Edit this page, and at the top, add the following template: {{sharedIPEDU|Name of School}} , where your school's name is the name of the school. That will add a template (like this) to the page, identifying that the IP is a school's IP - and, incidentally, warning users (and students) that their school may monitor its activity. There are also links for you to receive RSS feeds of activity, so you can be informed of shenanigans. If you have other IPs assigned to your school, I suggest you do the same for those. This would also ignore logged in users. Hope this helps, and please feel free to e-mail me or leave a message on my talk page if you have any other questions. Thanks.
