I didn't post the tag to give away your real life identity or home address or phone number or any other personal information like that; you have the same level of anonymity as you did before. All this does is let people know that this IP is the one that Young_Zaphod/Eggster/etc use to edit with, in order to make it easier for admin who are watching for when this person is using the IP to get around bans and probations and such. Unfortunately, it's unavoidable that this inadvertantly links your real life info (via IP->YZ/Egg->info about YZ/Egg), but this is a result of you giving out your personal info as Young_Zaphod/Eggster/etc. If you were concerned with keeping this as an anonymous identity, then you would have used it for edits on articles that are not linked to Young_Zaphod/Eggster, rather than using this as an additional identity with the same human being behind it. Similarly, if you did not want people to know that Young_Zaphod=Eggster, then you would not have edited the same articles with both names. For the best chance at anonymity, use Wikipedia:Why_create_an_account? and edit under only one account, and don't act the same as you have been so far (the personal attacks and lack of discussion are both dead giveaways; have any of the attacks involving NiMUD and Online_creation articles NOT been by the same person?). --Atari2600tim (talk • contribs) 02:32, 12 March 2006 (UTC)
In fact, both of these examples of personal information seem to be both on the internet via your own self posting it there. Google for Pittsburgh PA Herb Gilliland and result #1:
