[edit] Regarding reversions[1] made on January 11, 2008 to Norman Finkelstein

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. If this is an IP address, and it is shared by multiple users, ignore this warning, but aviod making any reverts within 24 hours of this warning in order to avoid any confusion. I posted an ASSOCIATED PRESS quote that has norman finkelstein saying islamic terrorist group represents "hope." It was quoted hundreds of times around the world via the associated press and a DIRECT QUOTE from finkelstein, yet a talkback editor removed it from his wikipedia page, saying he "said no such thing." The editor could have taken 5 seconds to google the quote, yet didn't. Here is one URL with the AP article: "After the horror and after the shame and after the anger there still remain a hope, and I know that I can get in a lot of trouble for what I am about to say, but I think that the Hezbollah represents the hope. They are fighting to defend their homeland," the Brooklyn-born Finkelstein told reporters. The U.S. government has labeled Hezbollah a terrorist organization. - http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/942454.html

I misread the article and reverted you once, subsequently I self-reverted. In other words, I removed your edits but then put them right back. <eleland/talkedits> 02:36, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

You do a great job, thanks.

As for my other edit, I think it's valid to say that Finkelstein CLAIMS that his parents were holocaust survivors. It's valid, becuas there's no proof of it, it's his claim. Now, normally one doesn't doubt such a claim, but in this case, it's VALID to at least point out he's claiming it, and not state it like it's a proven fact. Finkelstein dedicates his life to promoting doubt of jewish response to the holocaust, doubt of antisemitism, hate against israel, hate against zionism, and he's currently with hezbollah RIGHT NOW, calling them "hope." His opinions are very similar to what's found on anti-israel and anti-jew hate sites, only he comes from the angle that he's allegedly from a holocaust family. It may not even be true. He may be saying that just to gain validity for his constant attacks on virtually everything jewish. I don't believe wikipedia should state it as fact that he's jewish. You should say "He says he's Jewish" and "He says his parents were Holocaust-survivors." or he "claims" it. But stating it as fact isn't the right move, because it isn't.

Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. However, adding content of marginal relevance (unnecessary trivia) to articles, as you did to Crypto-Judaism, is not considered productive. Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. If this is a shared IP address, and you didn't make any unconstructive edits, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant warnings.
