Hermite was a Roman Catholic from childhood agnostic all of his adult life until the point where he contracted smallpox. It was during this time that Cauchy met with him a fellow catholic mathematician. He subsequently returned to the faith of his childhood.
this can be seen in the link provided at the bottom of the article the genealogy project.
Whether or not the article explicitly mentions that he was Christian is irrelevant. It is true, and thus hermite should be placed in the category.
I do fully support an expanding of this article, including a biographical section simply because Hermite is easily one of the most influential mathematicians of all time.
