Stop changing legit links to some porno site. CambridgeBayWeather 07:06, 21 August 2005 (UTC)
Sorry first time here. was not 100% sure of what was going on. Trying to understand how the system protect itself (and also to get stats) I will not do that again :)
Sounds good. Why don't you register and get a proper account. I see you corrected the bad link in Lexington Steele
I should but it's been hours that I should have been on other projects ;) I still don't understand how it works so I'm reading... I'm totally facinated but this piece of software. It's just amazing.
Can you simply explain me something... who monitors the change like you do? Some people are constantly watching stuff or receive update? I don't understand how you found that I also changed some bad link?
Thanks for you time
- I just came home from work and am spending time just clicking on the recent changes link (on the left). I don't have any articles to add to right now so I was looking for odd things to read and vandalism. I don't know how anyone else does it. Too much time on my hands.
Where can I learn everything about the system? Is there a place to learn about the back end? THanks
- Your best bet is to click on the Wikipedia:Help link. Look around in there, the Wikipedia:FAQ, Wikipedia:Administration FAQ, ask questions at the Wikipedia:Village pump, at Wikipedia:Help desk and Ask an administrator. CambridgeBayWeather 13:50, 21 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Cease removing the real name of Vanessa Blue
Forgive me for being blunt, but this is about the third or fourth time we've run across one another. Perhaps I wasn't clear the first few times, so, forgive me for my lack of clarity in my communication to you regarding this matter. Therefore, if you shall permit me to do so, I will try a different yet fair approach.
I have verified through valid sources, particularly this news item from DailyOrange.com, that Vanessa Blue's real name is Tanya Faulkner. As this information was obtained legally and through a news source, the name is not private -- as you have asserted on the Vanessa Blue page repeatedly.
Just in case you did not know, your actions smack in the face of two guidelines of Wikipedia, namely:
- Wikipedia is not censored for the protection of minors, no more than it is censored to protect people's security; we are here to report and provide information, not censor it
- repeated removal of verifiable information from Wikipedia is, and shall be construed as, an act of vandalism
Consequences of any future actions may lead up to an request for comment on you or a temporary block of your account, thus rendering you unable to edit this Wiki for a pre-determined period of time.
I am saying this not to threaten, but to make clear that there are already policies and guidelines in place that you may have not known about previous to our crossing paths, or your forays into Wikipedia.
Thank you for your attention. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me or ask your fellow Wikipedians at the Village Pump. -- Joe Beaudoin Jr. Think out loud 21:03, 8 February 2006 (UTC)
