Your 2006 edit to COBOL was reverted by an incredibly stupid automated bot that incompetently attempts to recognize and repair vandalism to Wikipedia articles. If the bot reverted a legitimate edit, please accept our apologies, because none of the humans involved are going to bother investigating the bot's cockup impartially or at all :). However, if you bring the bot's retarded behavior to the attention of the bot's owner, he/she/it may be able to improve things! Click here for frequently asked questions about the bot and this warning. // Tawkerbot2 10:37, 7 April 2006 (UTC)

According to one of our Holy Bots, we have blindly accepted that You have recently vandalized a Wikipedia article, and you are now being asked to stop this type of behavior. You're welcome to continue editing Wikipedia, so long as these edits are constructive. Please see Wikipedia's Blocking policy and what constitutes vandalism; such actions are not tolerated on Wikipedia, and are not taken lightly.

We hope that you will become a legitimate editor. Again, you are welcome here at Wikipedia, but remember not to vandalize or you will soon be blocked from editing.

If you feel you have received this message in error, it may be because you are using a shared IP address. Nevertheless, repeated vandalism from this address may cause you to be included in any future punishments such as temporary blocks or bans. To avoid confusion in the future, we invite you to create a user account of your own.

Please see WP:LINKS. Memory Alpha, by virtue of being a stable wiki project, has been established by the editing community as an appropriate link. The links you're providing, however, are uncited fancruft that offer no significant, notable expansion on the topic. --EEMeltonIV 03:00, 29 September 2007 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but we regretfully cannot accept original research. Original research also encompasses novel, unpublished syntheses of previously published material. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your information. Thank you.

In addition, if you have a disagreement with a revert by a bot or another editor, it would be far more appropriate to address the revert on the article's talk page, in a constructive and civil manner, citing your sources and acting to gain consensus. Deliberately editing previous comments as you have done above, does not speak well of your efforts to edit Wikipedia, and may in fact lend credence to any block that your IP may receive in the future. It is my personal hope that you will change your approach to this, and make a concerted effort to be a positive force here on Wikipedia. Edit Centric (talk) 06:59, 25 December 2007 (UTC)

In all likelihood, this is a shared-IP by many users. Nevertheless, I certainly welcome and appreciate the humor listed previously in this talk page by others. As far as lending "credence", perhaps more due diligence on your part regarding facts would enhance your credibility as an editor ... or you can continue to waste time writing unnecessary commentary here.

Cheers!

Okay. I tried. Good luck with all that. Snowfire51 (talk) 10:56, 26 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Civility

Civility, please. Your edit summaries and comments, especially in dealing with CompUSA, are a bit pointed and sarcastic. If you have correct information, feel free to post it but please remain civil to other editors when doing so. Rewriting warnings and being disrespectful won't endear you to other editors. Please try to get along. Thanks! Snowfire51 (talk) 09:57, 26 December 2007 (UTC)

This is the only warning you will receive for your disruptive edits.
If you vandalize Wikipedia again, you will be blocked from editing.

Regarding your comments specifically, this is your IP address' TALK page, where other users may leave you messages pertaining to discussions on articles, style guidelines, etceteras. This is NOT your "User Page". Even so, you are not entitled to vandalise another registered user's USER page solely due to a perceived vandalism of your own. Again, this is your ONLY warning. [edit] Your recent edits

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button Image:Signature_icon.png located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 03:11, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
