[edit] "Standard" names for beauty pageant contestants
Regarding your conversation with Angelo De La Paz (talk · contribs)... I suggest you read Wikipedia's policy on the use of names. The policy states that we should use the most common name of a person. In the case of most of the Latin American contestants, this means that we should not include 4+ names. For example, we should not use "Zuleyka Jerrís Rivera Mendoza" because her most common name is "Zuleyka Rivera". In most cases, what is their "common name" can be decided by looking at news coverage (i.e. reliable sources). If you have any questions about this, please feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. PageantUpdater talk • contribs 20:28, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
- Btw another good way to judge which name is most commonly in use is to use Google. For example, searching for " "Alba Reyes" -santos miss puerto rico " comes up with 1030 ghits, searching for " "alba reyes santos" miss puerto rico " comes up with 47 ghits and searching for " "Alba Giselle Reyes santos" miss puerto rico " comes up with 205 ghits. Clear "Alba Reyes" is the name most commonly in use. PageantUpdater talk • contribs 20:34, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
