[edit] Salsa

To the best of my knowledge, every fact at salsa music is cited to a reliable source. If you would like to add additional information, please use verifiable content that attributes opinions to their sources. Tuf-Kat (talk) 23:10, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

There is a footnote in that very paragraph explaining the source. It's Stewart, pgs. 493-494, see salsa music#References for the full citation. Tuf-Kat (talk) 23:26, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
Then please cite a reliable source with a different POV, either directly in the article or on the talk page and I'll try to incorporate that into the article. Tuf-Kat (talk) 23:38, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
That's not the way Wikipedia works. If you have a source with different info on where timba comes from, that sentence would be reworded to say something like "Musicologist Sue Steward has called timba a derivative of salsa, but other musicologists, including John Doe, have said timba is primarily an outgrowth of tango" (or whatever, obviously I just made that up). In most circumstances, the Steward claim would not be removed completely, as that is simply not the way Wikipedia handles these things (see WP:NPOV). But anyway, if you don't want to edit, I can't make you. Please stop making changes to the article without citing a source, however. Tuf-Kat (talk) 23:48, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Your recent edits

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button Image:Signature_icon.png located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 23:36, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
