As they say in the movies, "oh be-have". Seriously, though, we are trying to write an encyclopedia here, so don't make joke edits. Some readers looking for a serious article might not find them amusing. Remember, millions of people read Wikipedia, so we have to take what we do a bit seriously here. If you'd like to experiment with editing, try the sandbox, where you can write whatever you want (as long as it's not offensive).

[edit] Question for Tony

Sorry for posting a question here. I don't know how to respond to the message you sent me. You sent me a warning within 3 minutes of when I made my comments regarding banned words on the C-word page.

1) How did you catch it so quickly? 2) How did you know it was a joke and not true? 3) How do you prevent yourself from taking life too seriously? There seems to be no end to your seriousness. 4) Aren't some articles, due to their nature, apporpriate for such comments? above by User:67.189.111.74

  • Well, to answer your questions, 1) I am a member of the CVU and look at the recent changes list to check for people who may be vandals or don't know what they're doing. 2) I knew it must have been a joke or a bad faith edit because there isn't really a set standard for the offensivness of things. 3) I don't quite understand. 4) All articles in Wikipedia are encyclopedic, and thus aren't the place for comments that aren't. --TonySt 00:48, 12 March 2006 (UTC)
