[edit] Welcome
Welcome
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Help pages
- Tutorial
- How to write a great article
- Manual of Style
Here are some other hints and tips:
- I would recommend that you get a username. You don't have to log in to read or edit articles on Wikipedia, but creating an account is quick, free and non-intrusive, requires no personal information, and there are many benefits of having a username. (If you edit without a username, your IP address is used to identify you instead.)
- When using talk pages, please sign your name at the end of your messages by typing four tildes (~~~~). This will automatically produce your username (or IP address) and the date.
If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my Talk page, or type {{helpme}} on this talk page and a user will help you as soon as possible. I will answer your questions as far as I can. Again, welcome, and I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian. ~ UBeR 18:16, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Trolling and pornstars
If you don't stop trolling and posting refs to pornstars on serious pages I'll block you William M. Connolley 20:50, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
It was to illustrate that having a Wiki page does not make one notable. It was a lighthearted way to make a serious point. A serious way to make it:According to criteria you established, Dr. Cotton is not notable, but that pornstar is. That's absurd.
- You misunderstand. Having a wiki page is necessary for inclusion on that page. Not having a wiki page does not establish non-notability, just that no-one is interested enough. Having a wiki page (if necessary one that survives AFD) is wikis criterion for notability William M. Connolley 13:52, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

- You contradict yourself, I would draw you a Venn diagram if I were more computer literate. Also, you can be notable and non-intersting. Also, any moron can get a wiki page, I think I gave a great example, there are many more. Regardless, trying to debate with an irrational mind is a waste of my time so I shall cease.

[edit] WP:3RR
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on William Connolley. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. --Strothra 14:38, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
I documented the change I made on Talk. The 'other' reverter gave no reason for his revert on Talk.
