It wasn't a test I was adding my personal opinion in the form of a message to the "discussion" section of the article and therefore I broke no rules.

This edit of yours here cannot reasonably be considered a message to the "discussion" section of the article. You broke no rules ? BTW, you may want to voice your opinion on policies at the Village Pump or play at a wikiplayground such as http://www.wikinerds.org/. Please don't vandalise this online encyclopedia. -- PFHLai 01:40, 2005 August 24 (UTC)

The article was Wikipedia, and I was offering a suggestion on how to improve Wikipedia in general, and even though it may have been in the wrong place, not everyone spends have of their life learning every little tool, article, and function in this Encyclopedia. As for the personal attacks? Yes, I admit it my my wrong doing and against the rules. However, I would not call it vandalism like you decided to portray it as being, because my intent was not to cause chaos, but merely to offer a suggestion to make this Encyclopedia more desirable.

I have more problems with this act of vandalism attributed to your IP : http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:Main_Page&diff=prev&oldid=21688726 I hope it's just a hiccup by the computers.
While you may have very good intentions, I'll say that your method of getting attention was rather poor. You are encouraged to get an account and discuss with fellow Wikipedians in a civilized manner, rather than posting anonymous messages in foul language and calling people Nazis, etc., which tune people off immediately.
I, too, am not that happy with all the legal restrictions. However, we have to respect other people's rights; copying images from other people's websites for use in Wikipedia is not a good thing to do. We cannot and should not assume that other people's work are free. But we can ask for permission. See Image:Pompeii the last day 1.jpg on the MainPage right now. Permission to use this nice picture was granted because a Wikipedian just like you and me, went and asked nicely. It's that simple.
Happy editing. -- PFHLai 04:41, 2005 August 24 (UTC)
P.S. We sign and date our messages with ~~~~. It's the Wikipedian way. :)

[edit] image tags

Hello, User: 67.122.75.222, please do not remove image tags such {{unverified}}, as you've done to Image:Mcarthylist.jpg.[1] These tags are used to help administrators identify problematic images. For more information on how we deal with such bad images, please see Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. The queue is long.... :-( -- PFHLai 03:49, 2005 August 28 (UTC)
