Well, since I don't know your buddy's IP address, I can't tell what he's been doing, so I can't comment on who's right or wrong. However, what you did was wrong, and against the Wikipedia policy of no personal attacks. On Wikipedia there aren't "mods" per se; while there are admins, I am not one.
