Welcome
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Help pages
- Tutorial
- How to write a great article
- Manual of Style
Here are some other hints and tips:
- I would recommend that you get a username. You don't have to log in to read or edit articles on Wikipedia, but creating an account is quick, free and non-intrusive, requires no personal information, and there are many benefits of having a username. (If you edit without a username, your IP address is used to identify you instead.)
- When using talk pages, please sign your name at the end of your messages by typing four tildes (~~~~). This will automatically produce your username (or IP address) and the date.
If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my Talk page, or type {{helpme}} on this talk page and a user will help you as soon as possible. I will answer your questions as far as I can. Again, welcome!
Thank you again for contributing to Wikipedia. I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian. Yuser31415 (Editor review two!) 00:26, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
Is there a particular reason why you are de-prodding multiple articles without adding anything to them and/or giving a reason in the edit summary? IrishGuy talk 23:34, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
Can you explain why you've removed the prod on Telemak? You've left the article unchanged otherwise. Addere 23:47, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
Your continued removal of the prod on articles without discussion could be interpreted as vandalism. Please stop.--Lepeu1999 01:01, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Google and notability
Ghits is not the sole indicator of notability. Please do not add speedy delete tags to articles which make clear claims of notability for the sole reason that the article topic does not generate some arbitrary standard of Ghits - thanks. KillerChihuahua?!? 01:17, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
Seconded. --Planetary 02:04, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Your edits to Rogue (computer game)
Hi. I noticed in your recent edit to Rogue (computer game), you said in your edit summary, Wikipedia admins have stated that it is not important and therefore no refrence to it is needed.. I have no particular opinion one way or the other about the inclusion of ultra rogue in the list, but wanted to comment a bit on Wikipedia policy.
You should be aware that while admins have certain responsibilities and abilities which other editors don't have, we don't have carte blanche to to decide what content is or is not appropriate for an individual article. It seems unlikely that any admin would have made a such a pronouncement as you imply.
You should also be aware of the three revert rule. You haven't broken the letter of that rule, because your three reversions to that article were spread out over several days, but you have bent, if not broken, the spirit of the rule. If you have a disagreement with another editor over the wording of an article, the best thing would be for you to try and work it out on the article's talk page. Perhaps you will convince the other guy that you are right, or perhaps the other way around. Even more likely, editors who have not been previously involved will notice the disucssion and add their own opinions and insights. Either way, it's better than just edit warring.
Please continue to contribute to Wikipedia, but please also take some time to familiarize yourself with our policies. Thanks. -- RoySmith (talk) 00:42, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an anonymous user, identified by the user's numerical IP address. Some IP addresses change periodically, and may be shared by several users. If you are an anonymous user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other anonymous users. Registering also hides your IP address.
