From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

If you wish to contribute to this encyclopedia, please create an account at home and log in with it here.

Due to persistent vandalism (see edit log), editing by anonymous users from your school, library or institution's IP address may be currently disabled. You continue to have full access to read the encyclopedia. If you are logged in but still unable to edit, please follow these instructions. To prevent abuse, account creation via this IP address is probably also disabled.

If editing is required for class projects, please have your teacher or network administrator contact us (with reference to this IP address) at unblock-en-l from an email address listed on your school's website. Alternatively, if you have no Internet access at home, you may email us using your school-issued email address, telling us your preferred username. An account will be created for you. Please check on this list that the username you choose has not already been taken.

Thank you.

School IP address Attention:

This IP address, 65.5.128.20, is registered to Broward School District and may be shared by multiple users of an educational institution. If the institution uses proxy servers, this IP address may in fact represent many users at many physical computers.

For this reason a message intended for one person may be received by another. Similarly an innocent user may be blocked for another user's vandalism. If you are editing from this address and are frustrated by irrelevant messages, you can avoid them by creating an account for yourself. In some cases you may temporarily be unable to create an account due to efforts to fight vandalism; if so, please read our advice on this situation.

Caution should be used when blocking this IP or reverting its contributions without checking - if a block is needed, administrators should consider a soft block with the template {{schoolblock|optional comment}} as the block reason.

Note: In the event of persistent vandalism from this IP address, anonymous editing may be disabled for up to 1 year at a time. Abuse reports may also be forwarded to your school administration for investigation.
School staff who want to monitor vandalism from this IP address can subscribe to a web feed of this page in either RSS or Atom format.

  • Please refrain from removing content from Wikipedia, as you did to Bee. It is considered vandalism. If you want to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Konstable 11:59, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
You have been blocked from editing Wikipedia for repeated vandalism. If or when the block expires, feel free to come back, but please make useful contributions instead, and refrain from vandalizing or this account will face longer blocks, and action could be taken against the individual who uses it. -- Infrogmation 12:46, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

Please make any further unblock requests by using the {{unblock}} template. However, abuse of the template may result in your talk page being protected.

  • This IP belongs to the Broward School district and is shared throughout . These incidences of vandalism are the results of many students over a period of time.
  • This blocked user (block log | autoblocks | rangeblocks | unblock | contribs | deleted contribs) has asked to be unblocked, but an administrator has reviewed and declined this request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock request while you are blocked.

Request reason: " Shared IP throughout the school district. What kind of evidence could I provide? I work in the Computer Tech Office and I know that the county's proxy causes the IPs at every school to read the same."

Decline reason: "I have changed the block type to limit only anonymous edits. Users with existing accounts should be able to edit through it. Apart from due to prior abuse I see no reason for an early unblock.--Konstable 09:25, 19 September 2006 (UTC)"

[edit] January 2007

  • This IP has been blocked since October. A new semester has begun and there are different students using this computer than when the block was made so it is unfair to punish them for the actions of some dilinquent. 65.5.128.20 18:34, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
I have removed the block, which seems to have been unreasonably long for a school IP. Needless to say, vandalism from this IP address will be met by immediate blocks given its past history. — Gareth Hughes 18:42, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
LOL, I didn't realize that this IP was shared by the entire class. I didn't vandalize Tali Fahima, it was Justin so don't blame me. 65.5.128.20 19:07, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] April 2007

  • Hi! I am a member of this school, and I wanted to let you know that a new school year has started, and none of the same students are using this computer. PLEASE allow this I.P. to address to make edits. Many of my classmates don't have usernames, and they would really like to edit some articles, especially since we have stacks of textbooks with us, and plenty of info that we can add. I personally gauruntee that this computer will not be used for vandalism. Would an administrator PLEASE allow us to edit?
The block expires Tuesday, May 1st. This IP will be able to edit then. --PiMaster3 talk 23:16, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
Actually, a look at the logs shows that the block doesn't expire now until July 31. Must have been extended. Comrade Tux 13:39, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
Hi, this is the same person who wrote the above request. PLEASE let us edit. So many of us have useful information that we would like to share, but this disables us. PLEASE let us. This mesage is from our whole class, protesting this block.
And sorry for the title. I was just trying to get an admin's attention if they looked at the recent changes. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Babygurl13573 (talkcontribs) 16:50, 24 April 2007 (UTC).
Hi. Unfortunately when anon editing has been allowed from this ip#, vandalism and insults has been the overwhelming result. If there has been a change in security for school computers or other reason why more of the same shouldn't be expected, please explain. Otherwise, as the template at the top of this page says, users who wish to make serious edits can choose a user name and log in at home or on another ip#; editing by logged in users is still allowed on this ip#. Hope this helps, -- Infrogmation 23:11, 24 April 2007 (UTC)

    Request reason: "School IP"

Decline reason: "This is not a reason to unblock. The block message tells you how to register an account. — Yamla 14:36, 23 May 2007 (UTC)"

Please make any further unblock requests by using the {{unblock}} template. However, abuse of the template may result in your talk page being protected.

I know a little about Media Wiki, and if I remember correctly, you can set a block to only prevent annonomous edits or creation using the IP. Could you set that so that those of us who Don't want to vandalize can edit with an account? Thanks. 65.5.128.20 14:21, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
Per the template at the top of this talk page and the block log, the current block is set to anonymous only and account creation blocked. Logged in users should be able to edit. --Kinu t/c 14:34, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
Oh, ok sorry, I didn't see that... I'll make an account when I get home then... thanks. 65.5.128.20 15:00, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
