Hi, welcome to Wikipedia. For the record, you don't need to add Category:Irish-Americans to an article like Edwin O'Malley since it already has the Category:Irish-American politicians. The latter category belongs to the former (you can't be an Irish-American politician without being an Irish-American), so adding the former is redundant.
Just one of the many slightly confusing things to learn about Wikipedia when you get started. Don't worry, though, we've all been there. Happy editing! -- Mwanner | Talk 01:48, 18 October 2005 (UTC)

Uh, you also can't be a Category:Mayors of Boston without being a Category:Bostonians, so, again, the latter isn't needed if the former is in place. TIA, -- Mwanner | Talk 21:55, 18 October 2005 (UTC)
And now, having tested your patience with a couple of quibbles, let me pass along the same Wikipedia welcome message I was greeted by when I started here. I think it's really meant for people who have created an account, so it starts a little strangely with "Hello 65.42.89.248", but the info in it is worthwhile...
