OK. I just left a message on my own talk page. 65.222.216.15 14:05, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Butthole Surfers

Grammar rules indicate that the title Butthole Surfers is a collective noun requiring a singular verb conjugation. If you want it to read, "Butthole Surfers are," then change the opening sentence to be "The Butthole Surfers are...". Yes, I am a grammar nazi, and no, I never thought I would have to type out the phrase "Butthole Surfers" in my entire life as I have just now. Feel free to discuss if you disagree, or make the grammatically correct change on your own. Thanks! - CobaltBlueTony 16:58, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] blink-182

Your edit summary "rv - it's not a threat, I'm trying to prove that 'blink-182 was' is correct because they're no longer together and Tom said that he hasn't talked to Mark and Travis since remaining silent" shows you intend to violate WP:POINT. Do you wish to engage in a revert war rather than take part in a discussion you started? I'd really rather not protect the page to force the issue... RadioKirk talk to me 18:44, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

Meantime, a common misconception in your edits also needs correction: any time a group of people goes by a single collective name—even using such nouns as "group", "pair", etc.—then it is a singular unit. For example, The Beastie Boys is a band, its members are people. It sounds wrong when spoken, but is grammatically correct. RadioKirk talk to me 19:28, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] 27 May 2006

By reverting once more to the "was/is" war, it is clear you have every intention of using Wikipedia to prove you're "right" while willfully avoiding any attempt at compromise. In addition, IPs 64.142.89.105 and 65.222.216.15 are being used for tag-team reversions in attempt to avoid Wikipedia's rules against revert-wars. This language is factual, and it is to remain intact because it should be the goal of all of us for Wikipedia to be correct, not its editors. Further reversions will violate WP:3RR and WP:POINT and will be dealt with either through page proection or blocking your ability to edit the encyclopedia, or both. [edit] Please Stop.

Please Stop vandalizing other user's discussion page. If you continues to vandalize, you will be blocked by admin. *~Daniel~* 22:56, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The Smashing Pumpkins

  • There's already been a large discussion about whether to use "is" or "are". Don't rehash an old debate. Danny Lilithborne 02:11, 26 June 2006 (UTC)

Stop inserting incorrect grammar. I am not picking up on anyone's "left off." Best. 12.40.31.149

[edit] "Vandalism"

This is not vandalism; you and the other users are engaging in an edit war. Please stop, or there will be 3RR blocks on all sides for anyone who breaks the three-revert rule—including through the use of sock/meatpuppetry in an effort to avoid breaking that rule. For the record, a collective noun, even if plural, is singular ("The Doors was a band..."). RadioKirk (u|t|c) 20:56, 26 June 2006 (UTC)

Damn you, you beat me by a second!

3-Revert Rule You've made the same revert 4 times in the past few hours, which is in violation of the policy. Besides the fact that the change you've made has already been discussed on other pages and a policy has been accepted, and besides the fact that your change makes it gramatically incorrect, you're in violation of the rules. That said, this is your warning. Do not revert it again. Bsd987 20:59, 26 June 2006 (UTC)
