[edit] Your edit to Gerard Souzay

I notice your addition about Souzay's first recording and acquaintance with Dalton Baldwin. Do you have any details of the recording? My sources (CD notes) suggest that they met later around 1954 and started recording two or three years after that. I also see you have added a "Gay musicians" tag for him. He may well have been gay but I think we need some published evidence before the label becomes appropriate. It would be good to get these details resolved. Thanks. When Decca re-isssued some of Souzay's early-LP Fauré and Duparc recordings on CD in the 80s, I was surprised to see that one of them—just one—was accompanied by the 19-year-old Baldwin. I too had thought that they had met later. As for their personal association, it has been mentioned in magazine articles in International Classical Record , Fanfare, etc. It is hardly the kind of thing that can be "documented". Neither Souzay nor Baldwin were ever unmarried.65.206.122.30 (talk)
