- August 12 - Death of Ségéne mac Fiachnaí, or Ségéne of Iona, the fifth abbot of Iona.

- Death of Máel Dóid mac Suibni,[3] a King of Uisnech in Mide of the Clann Cholmáin. He was a son of Suibne mac Colmáin Már (died 598) and brother of Conall Guthbinn mac Suibni (died 637), previous kings.[4] He ruled from 637 to 653.[5]
