Your contribution to the roller derby article could not stay; it was not of research value and contained nothing that could even potentially be attributed to a reliable source. It seemed to be just an attempt to use weasel word-based generalizations (which must be avoided on Wikipedia) in order to air a personal grievance, apparently you have an axe to grind against a particular league. Material on Wikipedia must be verifiable, so in the future it'd be better to direct your efforts toward improving the article by finding and citing sources for the statements that need better references. If you care to discuss it further, please see Talk:Roller derby#Remove Controversy Section? where it has already been brought up.

In regard to your grievance, perhaps the "many" women who are "often" pressured or shamed into buying gear and attending more than the bare minimum of practices should reconsider whether they are joining the sport to have their picture taken and adopt a fun name, or to engage and excel in athletic competition.

For what it's worth, this is actually something that's become more of a problem lately: within leagues, the rift between the experienced players and those who aren't at the same athletic level/desire is growing ever wider, which has the effect of raising the bar exceedingly high for the "new girls" to be able to even participate safely and without extraordinary commitments. Similarly, the rift between entire leagues that are of disparate skill is growing wider, resulting in unsporting and sometimes dangerous mismatches. I'm guessing this will be partly addressed through the continued evolution of interleague competition divisions, and partly by the formation or spinning off of "rec" leagues with relaxed requirements for participation. You might look into the latter as a more immediate option for constructively dealing with your situation (I mean, the situation of "many"). Good luck. —mjb 06:00, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
