[edit] Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Newcomers help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I noticed you are known only as an IP address; that means you are not signed up. To sign up, you only need to click Create account and choose a username and password. You don't need to provide any personal information. If you sign up, you'll have a username that others can use to recognize you and leave you messages on the wiki. You'll be able to sign your name just by typing four tildes (~~~~) when you leave someone else a message. Plus, you (and others) will easily be able to see a list of all your contributions to Wikipedia.

If you have any questions, see the help pages, ask at the Village pump, or feel free to ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!

Having said that ...

Thanks for experimenting with Wikipedia. The links you added to the page Hank Williams have been removed. Please do not add commercial links—or links to your own private websites—to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or a mere collection of external links. You are, however, encouraged to add content instead of links. See the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Thanks.

I deleted the commercial links you added to the Hank Williams, Sanskrit, and First Nations articles.

These articles give more info on Wikipedia's policies about commerical links and external linking in general:

If you think any of these links should be restored, you should discuss it on the article's discussion page (some times called a "talk page") first.

I hope you will keep contributing to Wikipedia, just not these sort of links.

Again, welcome to Wikipedia.

Here's the list of link-spammed articles just for this IP address:

[edit] Stop your systematic link-spamming of Wikipedia

Please stop adding commercial links to Wikipedia. It is considered spamming, and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising. Thanks.

You added commercial links to the following articles which meet the criteria for spamming (see Wikipedia:Spam):

This is especially obnoxious when viewed in light of the 80+ similar link-spamming edits made by you using other addresses in the IP address block 64.228.225.xxx such as:

For more information, see Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#Link-spamming from someone in the IP address block 64.228.225.xxx.

Thousands of unpaid volunteers are working millions of hours a year to build a free repository of useful information for users around the world -- not to advance a parasitic spamdexing scheme.
