Look, my knowledge of these kinds of reactors is that:
- Reactors don't shed radioactive particles.
- Air doesn't become radioactive when exposed to radiation.
I've read specific quotes elsewhere that Project Pluto *didn't* create a radioactive exhaust.
Other examples with similar reactors include NERVA (cold gas goes in... hot gas comes out!!!) These kinds of projects ran this kind of nuclear reactor venting to the open air. There were some accidents where stuff broke, but other than those accidents (which turned out to be easy to clean up) there was essentially no fallout.- (User) WolfKeeper (Talk) 20:53, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

- And what do you think happens to the particles in the air when they are irradiated by an UNSHIELDED nuclear reactor? They obviously tend to become RADIOACTIVE. I'm removing the claim, AGAIN. If you want to add it, get some verification or a source on it. The burden of proof is on YOU. You make the claim, you have to back it up.
