[edit] Auld Alliance

You are at liberty to restore this link if you wish, although the way it was introduced before was a clumsy tautology, simply repeating-to the point of using the self same initial wording-a point I had already made. I will not, however, have the reference to Pluscarden removed, which you have now done twice. This is a small but interesting point, and the words within quotation marks were used by the chronicler. Any further amendment to this I will report as deliberate sabotage. Rcpaterson 22:10, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] AOL or no AOL, WP should block all anons from this IP address

There is some braindead AOL user out there (or maybe more than one) sharing this IP address who is doing A LOT of nonsensical vandalism. The AOL tag says that because many AOL users may share this same IP address, "care should be taken" (or some such wording) about blocking it (what does that mean, in practice, except "don't block it at all, because some innocent users will be blocked"). Here's a better idea: If AOL users want to edit WP, they'll just have to create a WP username. It isn't hard. It's not a high threshold to participation AT ALL. Maybe if you can't figure out such a baby step, or, alternately, if you maliciously choose to semi-obscure your identity, then you aren't qualified to add any knowledge to WP anyway. I say block the IP address and make REAL users create a username. Lumbercutter 14:54, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

Thank you, i mean how hard is to create a login? If you don't want to put the effort into constructive eiditng, why be here at all?--Heliac 14:48, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
D'oh—I just learned that apparently you can't implement my suggestion above without causing even logged-in users sharing that IP address to be blocked. I thought anyone logged in was home free. Oh well, guess we have no good tool to fight this problem. Lumbercutter 15:19, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] AfD nomination of Baxter Stockman

An editor has nominated Baxter Stockman, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Baxter Stockman and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 04:29, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
