Please do not add commercial links or links to your own private websites to Wikipedia, as you did in Credit card cashback. Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or a mere collection of external links. You are, however, encouraged to add content instead of links as long as the content abides by our policies and guidelines. See the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Thanks. A link to the edit I have reverted can be found here: link. Please stop adding commercial or personal-website links to Wikipedia. It is considered spamming, and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising. Thanks. ST47 15:35, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
Please stop. If you continue to use Wikipedia for advertising, you will be blocked from editing. OhNoitsJamie Talk 16:14, 27 September 2006 (UTC)
This is your last warning. The next time you insert a spam link, as you did in Social bookmarking, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted from Wikipedia. --AbsolutDan (talk) 23:56, 27 September 2006 (UTC)

Note for admins: user continued spamming within 24 hours of the above warning by adding a deceptively labeled link. --A. B. 18:58, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
- You have been temporarily blocked from editing Wikipedia for continuing to add spam links. If you wish to make useful contributions, you are welcome to come back after the block expires. [edit] Turning a new leaf
Thank you for your messsage on my talk page, especially your understanding about spamming. I can respect your desire to keep your name clean, so I will not dispute the section you removed. However a record of it ought to remain, so here is a discreet link to the section as it was prior to the removal: [1]. This should prevent the text in question from appearing in a Google search, while preserving a record of it for internal purposes. I hope you find this acceptable.
Going forward, perhaps you would consider joining the project and contributing positively? Below I will include a welcome message with some helpful links to get you started. Cheers! --AbsolutDan (talk) 23:46, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Welcome
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Help pages
- Tutorial
- How to write a great article
- Manual of Style
Here are some other hints and tips:
- I would recommend that you get a username. You don't have to log in to read or edit articles on Wikipedia, but creating an account is quick, free and non-intrusive, requires no personal information, and there are many benefits of having a username. (If you edit without a username, your IP address is used to identify you instead.)
- When using talk pages, please sign your name at the end of your messages by typing four tildes (~~~~). This will automatically produce your username (or IP address) and the date.
If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my Talk page, or type {{helpme}} on this talk page and a user will help you as soon as possible. I will answer your questions as far as I can. Again, welcome!
Thank you again for contributing to Wikipedia. I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian. --AbsolutDan (talk) 23:46, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
- Mikhail: Thank you for your message on my talk page. If you'd like to avoid messages that aren't directed towards you, I suggest you sign up for an account. Otherwise, you'll continue to see messages regarding edits made by anyone else sharing the same (public) IP address as you. Cheers! --AbsolutDan (talk) 00:06, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an anonymous user, identified by the user's numerical IP address. Some IP addresses change periodically, and may be shared by several users. If you are an anonymous user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other anonymous users. Registering also hides your IP address.
