I noticed somewhere that you're in law enforcement--no wonder you've heard the term and I haven't. Maybe it's heard commonly enough in your industry. Still doesn't really make it worth mentioning in the article. And actually I took Sistrunk this morning to get downtown...it's a fast way to get east during rush hour. when was the last time you've been down there? There's a lot of money going into community development. And a lot of middle class drivers who feel safe enough these days to use it as a shortcut during rush hour.
I've heard about twenty different terms for for our fine city...its name alone lends credence to that. I hear the term "Fort Leatherdale" quite frequently because of a) the preponderance of bikers, and b) the notariety of its gay leather bars... but maybe it's because of who I know. You've probably not heard that one. Not worth mentioning in the article either.
Fort Liquordale however is the only one that I've heard over and over again, in print, in media...more than just over conversation.

[edit] "whitest"
I disagree and so have reverted your changes, but if you feel strongly about this, please post on the Seattle talk page and let's discuss. --Lukobe 19:38, 6 January 2006 (UTC)
- You wrote on my talk page:
- In the article, History of Seattle since 1940 the passage which we disagree on is as follows.
Despite Seattle being one of the "whitest" major cities in the United States, it has had an African-American mayor (Norm Rice)
- How can you say white and then in the same breath say African-American? I don't think either term is racist or calling the mayor black is wrong, but by having two different standards certainly can be seen as racist, i.e. calling one person white and the other African-American or calling one person black and the other Caucasian.
- Actually, I agree, and I vote for changing African-American to black. --Lukobe 20:59, 6 January 2006 (UTC)

- In the future, please register an account to avoid being lumped in with the vandals operating from this address at the Department of Homeland Security. --Yamla 19:49, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
Thank you, I will be making a login immediately. Also, I do not know what Homeland Security has to do with this though, I am using a public library computer.--63.167.255.200 07:28, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
