[edit] Edit summaries

Hey, one of your edits popped up on my watchlist; you should use more civil edit summaries. People will be more likely to receive your changes positively if you use a summary like "rm judgemental language" or something instead of swearing at them. Thanks, --RobthTalk 14:52, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

Agree with Robth. Profanity gets you nowhere. After one revert I've left your revisions in Alice James because they were of little importance. I left your revisions in Leon Edel for the same reason. Your changes in Henry James were POV and not civil. We don't have to love each other to death around here, but swearing at other editors will not help construct better articles. I appreciate your (mostly) favorable comment on my user page. I did mean to revert your vandalism of Shandi Finnessey but Steve reverted before I could. As Steve says, vandalism and profanity will not help build a better encyclopedia. Please avoid both in the future and continue to make constructive contributions to the encyclopedia. Thanks, Casey Abell 15:25, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Personal Attacks

Please see Wikipedia's no personal attacks policy. Comment on content, not on the contributor; personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Note that continued personal attacks may lead to blocks for disruption. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. (Steve 15:14, 17 May 2006 (UTC))

That is cool. I accept your apology. I was just trying to get you to cool down before you crossed a line where an administrator might block you. You had some good edits for the most part minus your edits to Shandi Finnessey. I would hate to see a good editor blocked because he had a hot headed spell. Might I also suggest that you make this IP into an account. People here, including myself, have a natural suspision of IP address. We assume good faith, but 95% to 98% of the vandals on Wikipedia are IPs. You clearly are not a vandal and I would like you to recieve the credit you deserve for good edits. If you need any help along the way do not hesitate to drop me a line. God Bless! (Steve 15:25, 17 May 2006 (UTC))

[edit] Adding an IP welcome

Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions.

Currently, you are editing without a username. You can continue to do so, as you are not required to log in to Wikipedia to read and edit articles; however, logging in will result in a username being shown instead of your IP address (yours is 62.255.232.76). Logging in does not require any personal details. There are many other benefits for logging in to Wikipedia. For now, if you are stuck, you can type {{helpme}} on this page and an experienced Wikipedian will be around to answer any questions you may have.

Please note these points:

  • Please respect others' copyrights; do not copy and paste the contents from webpages directly.
  • Please use a neutral point of view when editing articles; this is possibly the most important Wikipedia policy.
  • If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
  • Do not add unreasonable contents into any articles, such as: copyrighted text, advertisement messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject. Both adding such unreasonable information and editing articles maliciously are considered vandalism.

The Wikipedia Tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, ask me on my Talk page. I will answer your questions as far as I can! Thank you again for contributing to Wikipedia. Kukini 17:56, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
