[edit] Square meal links

Howdy and welcome to Wikipedia! I noticed the links you have added to squaremeal reviews. Unfortunately, I think they may constitute a violation of the external links policy. In general it is a bad idea to add links to pages you are affiliated with, and while external links to professional reviews are sometimes included, these are usually reviews which have some level of notability. My conclusion is they probably should not be added back. I saw your note on User talk:Kbthompson, and I agree with that editor's assessment. If you have any questions, feel free to write a note on the bottom of my talk page, User_talk:TeaDrinker. Thanks, --TeaDrinker 17:41, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

Hi TeaDrinker I understand your point of view but who decides about the level of notability? With a heritage spanning eighteen years, Square Meal is widely regarded by hundreds of thousands of visitors as one of the most comprehensive and authoritative eating out and corporate entertainment guides available in the UK.

As with other content on Wikipedia, the decision to include content is based on the decision of editors working on the page, which is one of the reasons we recommend editors not work on pages (or edits) they have a vested interest in. Since an encyclopedia is not likely to be the place people go for restaurant reviews, including them in articles or links seems like it should meet a pretty high standard. Thanks for the interest, --TeaDrinker 18:01, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
