[edit] Your addition of commercial links to Andor Technologies Ltd, and removal of commercial links to http://www.princetoninstruments.com/ and Texas Instruments Impactron EMCCD

Hi, if you think that there is useful information on the Andor-operated website http://www.emccd.com/ then please add this information to the Wikipedia Electron-multiplying CCD page (but please do not put links to the website as it advertises products from only on manufacturer -- Andor). Thanks! 193.206.154.20 08:33, 27 January 2006 (UTC)

Please do not add commercial links — or links to your own private websites — to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or a mere collection of external links. See the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Thanks. JeremyA 18:46, 19 December 2005 (UTC)

This user continues to add commercial links to Andor, and should be banned from editing Wikipedia if they do so again. Rnt20 18:01, 13 January 2006 (UTC)

Hi everyone, I did not add any link to Andor to articles. I have one on my user page but I never included it in the EMCCD article or any other entry site. The only modifiction I did was my linking to "impact ionisation". I am aware of the official policy and never tried to add commercial links. It must be is some misunderstanding that I am blamed for something I did not do. I am not entirely sure why I was notified about this violation since, it is not my IP, as far as I know. It's true, I work for Andor but the whole issue is not my doing. Best regards.

[edit] Recurring problem

Your removal of references to Andor competitors, and addition of external links, has just happened again. Someone at Andor needs to learn how to get along with wikipedia. If this keeps up, you'll be blocked and your company links blacklisted. Hence, this vandalism final warning:

Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing. However, unconstructive edits, such as those you made to Electron-multiplying CCD, are considered vandalism and immediately reverted. If you continue in this manner you may be blocked from editing without further warning. Please stop, and consider improving rather than damaging the work of others. Thank you.
