From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This IP address, 62.164.247.198, is registered to Mistral Internet, an Internet service provider through which numerous individual users may connect to the Internet via proxy. This IP address may be reassigned to a different person when the current user disconnects.
For this reason, a message intended for one person may be received by another. If you are editing from this address and are frustrated by irrelevant messages, you can avoid them by creating an account for yourself. In some cases, you may temporarily be unable to create an account due to efforts to fight vandalism, in which case, please see here.
If you are autoblocked repeatedly, we encourage you to contact your Internet service provider or IT department and ask them to contact Wikimedia's XFF project about enabling X-Forwarded-For HTTP headers on their proxy servers so that our editing blocks will affect only the intended user.
Caution should be used when blocking this IP or reverting its contributions without checking - if a block is needed, administrators should consider using a soft block with the template {{anonblock|optional comment}} as the block reason.
Note: In the event of vandalism from this address, abuse reports may be sent to your network administrator for further investigation. |
[edit] Welcome
Hello! I've noticed that you have edited Wikipedia without logging in to an account. I'm happy that you've been contributing. However, I urge you to create an account. Here is a list of the benefits of having an account:
- You can create new pages
- You can use watchlists
- You can upload images
- You can keep your account from being unfairly blocked if you share an IP address
- You can use scripts to better fight annoying vandalism
- After four days, you can edit semi-protected pages
- After a while, you might be able to become an administrator
There are no cons to signing up for an account. In fact, there are more pros here! Signing up is completely free and you don't need to enter any personal information! Plus you can have a user page like mine! So, unless you can think of a con, sign up for an account right now! Marlith T/C 17:54, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Debate
- "Fair use" is not enshrined in British law -- that's an American thing.
- That's a laugh. Britian DOES have copyright laws (And the site has broken none of them) and had them long before America existed. Do you even bother to cheak things before you waffle on about them?
- Your colleague has already given an example of lack of attribution.
- He lied. The real author is clearly stated on the page if you'd bothered to look. And the source stated on the main news page (although you'd have to go into the history to look for it.)
- And you can prove that copyright holds after publication by simply going down to your local newsagents and looking in a few magazines.
- Strawman argument. I never said it did, liar. I asked if these where under copyright to begin with, which is questionable in some instances and I suppose a moot point anyway, and so far no one has answered. Maybe because the answer was not what you would like to hear? Still I grow tired of these games. Please give an example of where the site has broken British copyright laws as that's the only thing preventing inclusion or concede the issue. I gave the rules on the article talk page. You must realise how dishonest it is to claim things that are not true, or if it is true why not prove it to me? Nubula (talk) 18:12, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

- While I would like to continue this, I've got places I need to be and will not be back online until sometime tomorrow so please don't assume that a lack of response from me tonight means I don't intend to answer. Although if I don't get the evidence I asked for or an explination of how I've missunderstood British Law from you by tommorow, I'll re-add the link to the Primeval main page and keep adding until kingdom come regardless of how many times you remove it. This is the discussion page for an anonymous user, identified by the user's numerical IP address. Some IP addresses change periodically, and may be shared by several users. If you are an anonymous user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other anonymous users. Registering also hides your IP address.
