[edit] Mission
The 618th TACC is at the heart of AMC’s Rapid Global Mobility, responsible for planning, scheduling, tasking, and executing air mobility forces in support of U.S. goals and objectives.
[edit] History
When the TACC stood up on 1 April 1992, it brought together a diversity of functions, systems, and people never before assembled in a single organization. With the standup of the Air Mobility Command (AMC) in June 1992, the TACC became the single point of contact for its customers and suppliers in an effort to efficiently and effectively accomplish AMC’s Global Reach mission for the employment of all tanker/airlift missions. Since its reassignment from HQ AMC to Eighteenth Air Force effective 1 October 2003, the TACC has continued to be the hub for planning, scheduling, tasking, and executing America's mobility forces around the world. The TACC consists of 8 directorates comprised of over 900 people, and we are proud of our “Total Force” family. We are a benchmark organization with over 144 Reserve Individual Mobilization Augmentees (IMA). The entire air mobility team strives for excellence as seen daily in lives impacted and mission successes to build a stronger national defense
