[edit] EC response to the ruling
They say it's illegal: http://ec.europa.eu/employment_social/news/2008/may/fifa_en.pdf , precedent: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bosman_ruling. BUT: EC acknowledged that the ruling is somewhat good.
