Robert Neff is an Ohio native and was heavily influenced by his family's Appalachian roots. This respect for the land and nature are evident in his writing and art.

As a youth, art was a release a means to express himself. His parents encouraged his talent by sending him to art classes at the local art museum in Springfield, Ohio, his hometown. He was drawn to and fascinated with advertising and commercial art and longed for a career there. However, after a dispute with an art teacher in 9th grade, he walked away from art and put down the pencil.

He wrote his first book of verse, Years Since, when he was twenty-three, which was unpublished. Over the years he has honed his writing skill by writing newspaper articles and technical documentation, presentations and proposals for business. Several unpublished vignettes were also written during this time. In 2006, he completed and copyrighted, Selected Works from Reconnecting With Life.

At twenty-three he purchased his first camera, a Nikon FG [1]. He experimented and taught himself the photography. Out of his earlier works, developed a perspective that has become his style. His art is about seeing what we all see, but he has the ability to pick out the obvious and breathe life into the subject matter.

Rob attended The Ohio State University and holds a Bachelor of Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University where he graduated cum laude, and an MBA from Campbell University. He spent four years in the U.S. Air Force, eight in the U.S. Air Force Reserves and is a veteran of the first Gulf War. He has experienced the highs of a strong economy and was humbled by the lows of the 1990 and 2000 recession.

In 2002, he returned to Ohio to support his widowed mother's fight with breast cancer. This resurrected his need to write. Through his writing, he learned to express deep human feeling, love, desire, passion, and dreams. Ever since, he has been writing nonstop.

In 2000, he returned to photography and slowly began to develop a portfolio. From 2005 on he became consumed with his photography. In 2007 he began to experiment on his Mac Book Pro and developed the 5th World Art [2] movement. He has developed two styles, Kaleidoscopography, [3] and Opalescent Zurich, [4].
