Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. [edit] Blocked

You have been blocked from editing for a short time in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for repeated abuse of editing privileges. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make constructive contributions. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below.

This blocked user (block log | autoblocks | rangeblocks | unblock | contribs | deleted contribs) has asked to be unblocked, but an administrator has reviewed and declined this request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock request while you are blocked.

Request reason: "I am accessing Wikipedia from a network. To be exact, the network of a government department in Australia. There are around 350 people on the network who use the shared IP that has been blocked. I like many people in this office use Wikipedia to source information for official use. Many times, because we have a sound knowledge of communications technology and the Australian government, we also edit pages where details can be added or mistakes corrected. Unfortunetly it would appear some individual within this office has misused Wikipedia. I have reported this to my Divisional Manager who will investigate and take disciplinary action against the person or persons involved. On behalf of our department, let me apologies for the actions of a few."

Decline reason: "Please email unblock-en-l from a *@*.gov.au email address so that we can verify this. A WHOIS query of this IP address only indicates it belongs to Telstra and not any specific governmental department. Thanks. --  Netsnipe  ►  19:34, 16 May 2007 (UTC)"

Please make any further unblock requests by using the {{unblock}} template. However, abuse of the template may result in your talk page being protected.

Only anonymous editing is blocked. If you have registered for a user name here, you still should be able to edit. Thatcher131 19:40, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

I am afraid that the department I access Wikipedia from prohibits sending emails in a fashion you have suggested. When I say department, I really mean an agency that is in a small building near a certain department in Canberra. I think you know what agency... with all the satelite dishes on the roof. Yet we are still allowed to view and edit Wikipedia from the network, strange. Out bosses have not gotten with the times and restricted it yet.

However I have a personal account and will use it from now on. It is just a hassle because when I close the browser window, for security reasons, cookies and session files are cleared so I have to log in every time. But, if jerks (pardon the language) want to vandalise Wikipedia, then thats what one must do.
