The 54th Fighter Squadron (54 FS) was most recently a part of the 3d Wing at Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska. It operated the F-15 Eagle aircraft conducting air superiority missions.

The 54th conducted defense of Alaska during World War II and North-Central U.S. from 1952–1960 then returned to provide Alaskan air defense from 1987– .[1]
