5-25-77 is a 2008 film written and directed by Patrick Read Johnson. The film is Johnson's autobiographical take on his time spent as a science fiction-obsessed filmmaker in high school at Wadsworth, Illinois shortly before the blockbuster science fiction film Star Wars is released in theaters on May 25, 1977. John Francis Daley stars in the film's leading role as Pat Johnson.

Pat Johnson John Francis Daley is the only Sci Fi movie obsessed Teenager in his rural Illinois town. Pat longs to leave his hometown to become a film maker in Hollywood. A new film named Star Wars is about to change his destiny.

The film has yet to find distribution, but screenings have occurred sporadically at Star Wars Celebration 4, The Alamo Drafthouse [1], and the Lake County Film Festival [2].

Gary Kurtz is brought on board as producer. A preview cut is shown at Star Wars Celebration IV in Los Angeles, California on 5-25-2007, the 30th anniversary of the premiere of Star Wars (1977). The role of Janet Johnson was initially offered to actress Carrie Fisher, who played Princess Leia.
