49er Pairs

The National 49er Pairs (NAP) national bridge championship is held at the spring American Contract Bridge League (ACBL) North American Bridge Championship (NABC).
The 49er Pairs is a matchpoint pairs event. The event typically starts on the Wednesday of the NABC. The event is restricted to those with fewer than 50 masterpoints.

The National 49er Pairs is a one-day matchpoint event in which players compete for masterpoints and the Fifth Chair Trophy. The National 49er Pairs is a limited to players with 0--50 masterpoints.
The first National 49er Pairs was held in 1998. Winners names are added to the Fifth Chair Trophy. The Fifth Chair Foundation is an international non-profit organization dedicated to promoting bridge on the Internet and attracting new players to the game.
