Second World War British Army formation badge for the 42nd (East Lancashire) Division (and subsequently for 42nd Armoured Division, 42nd Assault Regiment RE and 42nd Armoured Engineer Regiment), applique on felt, 1in square. The badge pays tribute to the emblem worn by the 42nd Division during the First World War, a diamond divided horizontally red and white. For formation notes see INS 5337.
