The forum's getting quite big.... - Stevey7788 22:41, 13 Mar 2005 (UTC)

A link to Scambaiter.com don't really belong in an article about 419eater.com - so I've removed it. WegianWarrior 08:17, 5 April 2006 (UTC)

Anybody has any info on what happened to the site? After only one update of the site in the last few months, the website has now been inaccessible for a few days. (Lostkiwi 14:10, 3 July 2006 (UTC))

Nevermind, the site came back online today (though much slower than before it seems to me) and still with no update since the last one on May 26th 2006. The dates of the last updates have even been removed from the list[1] which makes me think that the site might become dormant. (Lostkiwi 20:41, 3 July 2006 (UTC))

Well the site got an update for September, so its not dormant. Shiver hasn't done anything new, but there's a new user-done bait.

Shiver's running a new bait right now, the site is still active.

The 419eater forum is very active at this time, with a large number of active users currently involved in many different scam baits. Many of these baits are being detailed in the message forum as they occur; completed ones are also being published in a "publish your work" section of the message forum. I have made some additions to the 419eater page to describe how it is being used at present, including descriptions of the message boards and mentor activities, expanded details on the photograph posting forum, and information on their bank account removal activites in concert with aa419. Further, I would like to comment on the repeated deletions of Shiver Metimber's real name. The fact is that he has published a book under his real name, Michael Berry, in which he reveals that he is, in fact, Shiver Metimbers. Hence, the cat is out of the bag and there would seem to be no point in hiding his real name on this page. There is even a link on this page directly to his book, in which his real name is revealed. Now the article appears stupid because it doesn't say who "Berry" is but it refers to "Berry" throughout.Francobriton 17:02, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] DDOS attack?

The site is currently down. Two days ago, there were posts on the message board regarding a DDOS attack against aa419.org... and then their server went down. I am guessing that they were next in line for the DDOS attack, if anyone has information please update (here if not in the main context of the article). 204.57.115.38 16:34, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

Has been confirmed by site admins. Temporary forum is up, and the address can be accessed by emailing fouronenineeater@gmail.com

Do we want a direct link to the temporary forum??? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jarbury (talkcontribs) 11:47, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

Please do not post a direct link to the temp site, that will just get hit with a DDoS attack too. Bgrainger 00:22, 11 September 2007 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bgrainger (talkcontribs)

Shielding other sites from attacks, while noble, isn't wikipedia's job. Besides, [2] Genericus 08:41, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Who is Berry?

The introductory paragraph presents the 419eater site owner only by the alias Shiver Metimbers -- but other paragraphs refer to "Berry" in that role. Who is "Berry"? I assume this is the real name of "Shiver Metimbers" but if so there needs to be some citation. YojimboSan 01:13, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

This is now resolved; someone has once again returned Michael Berry's name to the article. As I commented earlier on this page, it is illogical and nonsensical at this point for people to continue to remove his real name. The man has published a book in which he reveals to the world who he is; there is a link to the book on this page. There is no valid reason to continue to delete his name, as the identity of Shiver Metimbers was long ago revealed. Leejnd 02:40, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] 403

As of March 31 2008, the entire site seems down -- the homepage and other links produce 403 errors. Not sure how long it has been that way. It may be temporary. 64.172.226.100 (talk) 19:15, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
