407-401 Durham West Connector, is a proposed freeway in Durham Region between Highway 407/ETR and Highway 401
The Durham West Connector is one of two proposed highways to connect the 407 and 401, along with the 407-401 Durham East Connector to be located to the east in Clarington, Ontario.
The eastward extension of Highway 407 is currently undergoing an environmental assessment (EA) process. A preferred route with interchanges was released in June 2007,[1] with the EA process expected to be completed by the end of 2008.
On March 6, 2007 as part of the FLOW initiative, the Government of Canada and the Province of Ontario confirmed the extension of the 407 to Highway 115 in Clarington, including the connector highways, with an announced completion date of 2013.[2]
