Talk:3PR

[edit] Significance
I have re-ordered the article to show connection of Australian prime minister Kevin Rudd and to Australian economic development through Australia TradeCoast. Equally, this was one of Norwich's more exciting consultancies; played a significant role in the Independent Family Brewers of Britain; and in the recent history of Schiphol airport.
Others may have more to add than I feel able to. Pete (talk) 10:26, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Comments
The consultancy's founder went on to invent Australia TradeCoast in co-operation with Queensland Premier Peter Beattie, and cross swords with Kevin Rudd, now Australia's Prime Minister, over proposed development of Brisbane Airport.
- What the founder went on to do does not add to the notability of 3PR as such, hence it doesn't seem relevant to this article. But if this sentence can be justified:
- how does one "invent" something like Australia TradeCoast (or IFBB)? I acknowledge someone came up with and then sold the concept. I wonder if "create the concept of Australia TradeCoast" isn't a better expression.
- the sword-crossing with Rudd was at a time when he was a Shadow Minister or maybe even a humble back-bencher. The fact that Rudd has gone on to bigger and better things since then, also doesn't seem relevant. It looks like padding to me. The link provides all the information one could want about what Rudd's doing with himself these days.
... dramatic over-servicing ...
- "dramatic" is editorialising, and "over-servicing" is usually a term associated with malpractice or illegal activities (I think immediately of medical over-servicing to maximise Medicare rebates etc).
... a reputation for ... hiring very intelligent young PR practitioners.
- I can't quite get what this is saying. Is there some connection between their youth and their intelligence? (If they thought that, they weren't very intelligent after all). The corollary is that as soon as someone was no longer considered "young", they were of no interest to 3PR. I can't see how this would be a good reputation to have. -- JackofOz (talk) 01:17, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
