Gimmel Tammuz, the third day of the month of Tammuz in the Hebrew calendar, is the Yom Hillula (anniversary of the passing) of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the leader of the Chabad-Lubavitch movement, who died in 1994.[1]
Chabad Chassidim observe the customs of the Yom Hillula in accordance with the customs instituted by the Rebbe for the yahrtzeit of his father-in-law, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn.[2]
The day is marked by an annual official Tzivos Hashem parade, around Crown Heights.[3]
