In 1997, 3 Doors Down released their debut CD titled 3 Doors Down.
The album was sold at gigs and at local shops but did not receive a wide release. By this time, their reputation was spreading, and they were playing in front of audiences as large as 2,000. Their popularity continued to grow, and the local radio station WCPR was constantly getting requests for their songs. The group was showcased at New York’s CBGB. Soon after playing, they were offered a deal with Republic, a branch of Universal Records. It was made in very limited quantities and is very rare to come by. Copies have sold for decent amounts on eBay whenever they do surface.
