Cross-sectional schematic of a 3-way ball valve in each of two positions. Arrows show flow allowed in each position. Blue color indicates the stem. Red color indicates the handle in each position.

H Padleckas created this image file in late August 2006 especially for use in articles on valves in Wikimedia.
The schematic style is based on a similar image file, "Wikipedia:Image:Ballvalve.jpg", in Wikipedia, drawn by MH and uploaded by Wikipedia:User:Sonett72 on Nov. 23, 2004, which was released to the public domain. H Padleckas 17:56, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
