Talk:.tar.gz.gpg
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I wouldn't consider the proposed deletion of this article to be noncontroversial; in fact, I find this relatively useful. I didn't even know that .tar.gz.gpg. is apparently a commonly used "format". If, however, this article overstates the prominence of GPG-ing (?) .tar.gz files, then perhaps it should not exist. Bring this to an AfD vote if necessary. Ardric47 00:52, 9 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Partial Rewrite
I corrected some errors, removed some minor POV, and added references to the article. My main qualm is that .tar.gz.gpg is not a file format, it's a file extension. A .tar.gz.gpg file would be a gpg file format, as only the part after the last period pertains to its current state (assuming that one actually used the utility on that file and didn't just append ".tar, .gz, or .gpg" arbitrarily).
