Why does Guadeloupe have its own ccTLD? It is not a country itself, as it is part of France. --Abdull 12:55, 9 April 2006 (UTC)

A large number of places that aren't independent have ccTLDs, ranging from international territories like Antarctica (.aq, unused) to dependent areas such as Bouvet Island (.bv), Puerto Rico (.pr) and Pitcairn Island (.pt), and quasi-independent places like the Isle of Man (.im). Several of these are unused. There's also a number which are reserved but haven't been assigned, which could - IIRC - potentially include .fx for Metropolitan France Shimgray | talk | 13:25, 9 April 2006 (UTC)
