The following lists pre-made characters created by Maxis for real-time strategy/simulation computer and video games The Sims, The Sims 2, and other Maxis Sim games. All quoted material comes from in-game descriptions.

Sims 2 takes place approximately 25 years after The Sims, making the story and plotline much different.

Old Town is the former name for Pleasantview, as the game takes place 25 years before The Sims 2. The town's founder Gunther Goth founded the town while seeking a better life for his wife Cornelia and son Mortimer.

At the time of the town was founded roughly 30 years before The Sims and 55 years before The Sims 2. Gunther was a hard working Farmer and lived a Blue Collared working life style. Until he found a forest of un-owned land just waiting to be settled.

Thus Pleasantview, formely known as Old Town was established. Mortimer who was just a child at the time, but would receive various demons in his life that would change his character from young farm boy to a very greedy and dark old man.

As the years went by, the population grew.

When the player first begins the game, they are convinced by the game to go to the Newbie household. The house consists of Bob and Betty. Newbie, their last name, is a take on the word "newbie" as these characters are the tutorial family for newbie players.

Bob is a Tutorial character who has many similarities to Homer Simpson. Bob is a lazy slob who lets his wife Betty get him out of trouble or take care of the house. Betty is considered the helpful house wife from 1950s suburbia, but is simlar to Marge Simpson. The Newbie home also has a 1950s suburbia theme making it a custom rendered turtorial. 25 years later, their daughter, Brandi (not included with the two) grows up to have a criminal teen son, a toddler and she is expecting another. Furthermore, her husband is desceased.

The second family and most memorable is the Goths. Bella and Mortimer Goth are a friendly, family, but at the same time, have dark, spooky lifestyles, as they are both strongly connected to the supernatural. Bella, a psychic who comes from a family of witches in Magic Town (from The Sims: Makin' Magic), has a strong intrest in Art, Gardening, and obviously, Magic. She is also more friendly than her arrogant husband. Mortimer, a Lab Assistant who in the next 25 years will climb his way up the career ladder to become a Mad Scientist, is sometimes rude and snobbish to other sims, but loves his family.

Cassandra is shy and dosen't say much and is said to be around 10 years old. Not much is known about Cassandra untill she has her own story to explain in The Sims 2.

Micheal Bachelor is similar to the character in The Graduate. He dosen't know what he wants to do after he recently graduated from college. Though the two Roomies Melissa and Chris have crushes on him and the two fight over him to see who Micheal likes more.

The Pleasant family have an easygoing lifestyle and are the nicest family in the town. Living normal lives and hoping that the rest of the town takes the families advice, their last name tells it all. Their eldest son Daniel is the father of the new generation of Pleasant's in The Sims 2.

The Burbs who live a 1950s lifestyle have a son named Johnny who represents the All-American boy of the 1950s. His parents are completely different. His father Brad loves nature and everything about it, while his wife Tiffany is a Fashion Designer and is still skeptical as to why her husband moved them out of the city and into Old Town. Despite their differences, Brad and Tiffany still love each other, While Johnny loves his dog Tucker.

Gina Kat, who has an obsession with her Cats, writes children's books about them, as they are her main influence. However, her obsession has gotten many of her neighboors scared of her and her strange obsession.

The Hicks are a Hillbilly family who live in a trailer on the borderline of Old Town. The family owns a group of wild mutts who watch over the house. Elden, who is a Master Mechanic, watches over his mom, Mama, named for Hillbilly slang.

Newbie

• Bob Newbie (Male, Gemini)

"Bob is new to the neighborhood. He needs help getting familiar with his new environment. Can you help him get through this tutorial?" He is the favorite patsy of The Sims Universe.

• Betty Newbie (Female, Pisces)

"Betty is new to the neighborhood. She is just getting familiar with her new environment. Can you help her learn to interact with her new home?" In The Sims for consoles, the much younger Betty Newbie is known as Betty Roomie in the story mode.

Bachelor

• Michael Bachelor (Male, Libra)

"Michael is just out of college and he doesn't know what he wants to do with his life. Can you help Michael succeed?" The Sims 2 places him as Bella Goth's brother and Dina Caliente's (now deceased) husband.

Goth

• Mortimer Goth (Male, Taurus)

"Cheerful and outgoing, Mortimer brings his old country upbringing into the modern age. He has an unusual fondness for insects." He starts as a Test Subject on the Scientist track.

• Bella Goth (Female, Cancer)

"Elegant and athletic are two qualities that describe Bella. She enjoys a variety of activities from golf to miniature golf." She may be the most popular character in the game, as shown by reactions toward her disappearance in The Sims 2. (A character with the same name makes a cameo appearance in The Sims 2, but was abducted by aliens, therefore placed as a townie in Strangetown. Bella can be found in the family tree, but has no other form of ties with the Goth family, and is seen to have not aged or presumed dead). Promotional materials for The Sims on console say she's descended from a line of witches.

• Cassandra Goth (Female, Cancer)

"Cassandra is the quiet, mysterious type. Nobody ever knows quite what she's thinking."

• Jeff Pleasant (Male)

Husband of Diane and Father of Daniel and Jennifer. He works in Elite Forces in Military track and wants to be promoted to Astronaut so he can be the first man to walk on Mars. In The Sims 2, Daniel Pleasant's biography says that Jeff died before reaching his goal and now Daniel feels guilty.

• Diane Pleasant (Female)

Wife of Jeff and mother of Daniel and Jennifer. She is a full-time housewife.

• Daniel Pleasant (Male)

Son of Jeff and Diane, and brother of Jennifer.

• Jennifer Pleasant (Female)

Daughter of Jeff and Diane, and sister of Daniel.

Jones

• Edward Jones (Male)

Starts as a Mailroom Clerk in the Business track. Husband of Barbra and father of Bobby.

• Barbra Jones (Female)

Is a stay-at-home mother of Bobby and husband of Edward.

• Bobby Jones (Male)

Son of Edward and Barbra.

Snooty Patooty

• Chip Snooty Patooty (Male)

Husband of Buffy.

• Buffy Snooty Patooty (Female)

Wife of Chip.

Both Chip and Buffy are unemployed Sims who brag about their wealth and how their lives are too busy (playing cards and going on cruises) to work.

Maximus

• MAHUIZZO "Jimmy" Maximus (Male)

Works as a Criminal Mastermind in the Life of Crime track; husband of Princess Zhaghawa. He once thought that women were of no use and could be manipulated however he wanted. He dropped this idea when he met his wife, Princess Zhaghawa.

• Princess Zhaghawa Mazimus (Female)

Works as a Feature Star in the Entertainment track; wife of MAHUIZZO "Jimmy." It was said that she was born with a silver spoon in her mouth and according to her name, she may be decended from royalty in an unknown African tribe (she may even be heir to the throne).

Hatfield

• Ulysses T. Hatfield (Male)

A Hillbilly, husband of Ruby Ann; father of Billy, Hank, and Elizabeth Elvira; works as a Recruit in the Military track.

• Ruby Ann Hatfield (Female)

Wife of Ulysses T.; mother of Billy, Hank, and Elizabeth Elvira; wanting another child, despite the family has very few funds and the house is in horrible condition. An aspiring actress, she works as a Medical Technician in the Medical track.

• Billy Hatfield (Male)

Son of Ulysses T. and Ruby Ann; brother of Hank and Elizabeth Elvira.

• Hank Hatfield (Male)

Son of Ulysses T. and Ruby Ann; brother of Billy and Elizabeth Elvira. Says that he is jealous because his family doesn't have enough money to buy a big screen TV. Also doesn't care if his grades fail low enough to be sent to military school.

• Elizabeth Elvira Hatfield (Female)

Only daughter of Ulysses T. and Ruby Ann; sister of Billy and Hank. Respects her family and wants to do well in school and wants to grow up and become an actress herself.

Valentino

• Rudy Valentino (Male)

Husband of Julia Valentino.

• Julia Valentino (Female)

Wife of Rudy Valentino. Works as a Cadet in the Law Enforcement track.

The Sims: Livin' Large The following families were included in the first expansion pack The Sims Livin' Large. They are found in neighborhood 2. NOTE: Neighborhood 2 in The Sims: Livin' Large is not Strangetown in The Sims 2.

Mashuga

• Frankie Mashuga (Male, Libra)

He starts as a Bungee Jump Instructor on the X-Treme Sports track.

• Sylvia Marie Mashuga (Female, Aquarius)

She starts as a Psychic Phone Friend on the Paranormal track.

Mashuga means "crazy" in Hebrew and Yiddish

Wife of Gunther Goth Sr. "Cornelia is the founder of the Sim City Bridge Society and enjoys high tea and phrenology. She is thankful to have her granddaughter, Cassandra, so nearby." She starts out unemployed.

• Hecuba Goth Sr (Female, Sagittarius) Type: Cat

Gunther and Cornelia Goth Sr's pet cat. "Hecuba thinks herself very important and thinks her twin brother is not as cute as she is."

• Menelaus Goth Sr (Male, Capricorn) Type: Cat

Gunther and Cornelia Goth Sr's pet cat. "Menelaus has a lot on his mind, but doesn't feel like explaining it right now."

'Burb'

Husband of Tiffany Burb and father of Johnny Burb. "Tired of the hectic pace of the city, Brad packed up the family and set out in search or peace and quiet. His interests include weeding, watering, and soup."

Wife of Brad Burb and mother of Johnny Burb. "Tiffany does not share her husband's love of nature. She is an expert shopper who knows all the latest trends and styles."

The son of Brad Burb and Tiffany Burb. "Johnny loves frogs, mud, and playing with friends. His least favorite subject in school is History."

Johnny's pet dog. "Johnny thinks Tucker is the world's best dog! Tucker sometimes thinks he's a cat."

"Duke is well-known in the neighborhood. Timid dogs walk on the other side of the street when he is near".

"Leroy is a class clown with a sense of humor all his own. Playing "chase" is his favourite activity".

"Bobo enjoys simple pleasures like digging holes and chasing his tail".

'Kat'

• Ginia Kat (Female, Virgo)

"When not in the garden Ginia writes and illustrates children's books. Her characters are named after her numerous cats." Ginia is a widow who lives in a small cottage on the outskirts of Old Town. She has four cats. In Danish "Kat" is the correct way of spelling cat.

"Ginia think Waggles dreams of inventing a better mousetrap".

• Boots Kat (Male, Leo) Type: Cat

"Boots had a mind of his own, and doesn't ever reveal secrets".

Overall Summary for The Sims 2 storyline This summary covers the backstories behind the three neighborhoods packed with the game, Pleasantview, Strangetown, and Veronaville. Maxis provided the neighborhoods with existing families and neighborhood relationships as a way for the player to take control of the plotline and play the game their own way.

Pleasantview This is considered to be the same area as Old Town in The Sims, with Pleasantview being a more recent name. The town's history is mysterious, and raises a lot of questions. For most fans of the game, the biggest question is what happened to Bella Goth, until it is explained that she was abducted by aliens and became a townie in Strangetown.

After Bella's abduction, Mortimer is devastated and becomes a grumpy old man who gives other Sims a hard time. He is currently involved in relationships with Dina Caliente and Nina Caliente, two young women who only wish to gain access to his money. Mortimer has a close relationship with his son, Alexander, who has similar personality traits as him. His daughter Cassandra is shy and very mysterious, and wants to have a family and live a normal life.

Cassandra is involved with Don Lothario, but does not realize that he is also involved with several other women, in effect cheating on all of them. Don is also afraid to get married, as he has a great fear of even the slightest act of commitment. He prefers just to seduce any woman he meets, and then move on to another. Pleasantview can therefore be said to suffer from a not so pleasant problem of adultery.

The Caliente fraternal twins Nina and Dina, new to pleasantview, both want to consume the Goth Family fortune. Dina was formerly married to elderly Michael Bachelor, Mortimer's wife Bella's brother, from the first game, who is now deceased. After Michaels unfortunate death, Dina inherited Michaels money and bounced back up and is now after Mortimer Goth, while Nina is after Cassandra Goth's fiance Don Lothario. The sisters appear to be very different from each other, Dina is very friendly and enjoys being social, but very lazy and feeds her troubles with money. Nina is the opposite and aspires more romance than fortune, and constantly teases her twin. Their surname suggests that they are of Hispanic heritage. The word "Caliente" roughly translates as "Hot" in Spanish. Their mother's maiden name is Middle Eastern, and their fathers name "Flamenco" is a form of a european spain-popular dance. It's also interesting to note that the girls' father was a half-alien.

The Broke family is not part of Don's network of mistresses, but has its share of problems all the same. Brandi Broke is suffering from her husband's recent death (involving an "accident with a pool ladder") that happened a year before the game takes place. In response to this tragedy, her son Dustin Broke has developed a poor attitude, seeing gangster-like activity as the answer to his problems. Her younger son Beau Broke still has a chance of becoming a better person than his criminal brother. Brandi is also currently expecting a third child, who was conceived before her husband's passing.

The Pleasant family makes a re-appearance in Pleasantview, after their introduction in the The Sims. Daniel Pleasant, who appeared in a child in the original game, can be said to be enjoying an upper-class suburban life on first impressions, with a high-paying job as an Assistant Coach for a Major League baseball team, and an easy-going wife. However, in addition to all this, Daniel spends half of his time having love affairs with his maid, Kaylynn Langerak. The Pleasant family also includes teenaged twins Angela and Lilith; Angela is a happy-go-lucky young girl doing well in school, while Lilith is plagued by anger for her family, depression and low grades. Finally, there is the over-pressured housewife Mary-Sue Pleasant, who is unaware of most of the things that go on around her house. One could say that the Pleasants are problably the most disturbed family in all of Pleasantview, their name notwithstanding.

Finally there is the Dreamer family, who had a Bill Cosby-like quality to their home life until Darren's wife Darlene passed away. Darren has since become very distressed about his life, though he has found some solace in a relationship with Cassandra Goth -- unaware that she is seeing someone else. Darren's son Dirk is a very confident teenager who, despite his mother's death, still hopes to fulfill his aspirations.

Broke

Brandi Broke (Female, Aries), born Brandi Newbie, only daughter of Bob and Betty (née Simovitch) Newbie. Widow after the death of husband Skip in a pool ladder accident (Note: The pool in the back yard has no ladder). Is raising two children and is pregnant with a third, who will be a boy. (In the Sims 2, gender is usually set at birth rather than conception, but people seem to think this third child is always male because he has Brandi's DNA only, despite what the family tree says. Making a Sim pregnant by him- or herself always results in an opposite gender child). Her major traits in personality include Playfulness and Niceness.Aspiration: Family. Dustin Broke (Male, Aries), Skip and Brandi Broke's oldest teenage son. Dating Angela Pleasant. Has same personality traits as Brandi's and works part-time as a Street Hawker in the Criminal track. Enemy to Daniel Pleasant. Aspiration: Fortune. Beau Broke (Male, Gemini), Skip and Brandi Broke's younger son, a toddler, and Dustin's younger brother. Aspiration: Grow Up. Son of Brandi Broke (Male), Skip and Brandi Broke's third and youngest son, a baby, and Dustin and Beau's youngest brother. Dina Caliente (Female, Sagittarius), the bachelorette fraternal twin sister of Nina Caliente. She is possibly one of the more nicer and most playful sims in the neighborhood. Dina aspires of making it big, and her favourite foods are chocolate, as her profile suggests. She is in love with Mortimer Goth and has a growing crush on Don Lothario, with possible intentions to assume control of Mortimer's fortune. Also formerly married to (now deceased) Michael Bachelor, who, strangely, was Bella's (Mortimer's wife's) brother. She is sometimes considered "The Neglected Twin". Dina's personality Traits include Playful, Nice, Outgoing, yet lazy. Caliente is Spanish for hot. According to a fan-made series listed on Sim-Movies.com, Dina's middle name is said to be Sierra. Although her astrology sign is "Sagittarius", her personality actually fits as a Libra. Aspiration: Fortune. Nina Caliente (Female, Scorpio), the bachelorette fraternal twin sister to Dina Caliente. In love with Don Lothario. Nina enjoys being active, and bread pudding. Personality traits include Active, Serious, Tidy, But very shy. Nina and Dina's memory-panel suggests that Nina is the older one of the twins. In the same series mentioned above, Nina's middle name is said to be Lynelle. Aspiration: Romance. Dreamer

Darren Dreamer (Male, Aries), widower of Darleen and father of Dirk. Secretly in love with Cassandra Goth and is an enemy to Don Lothario. Aspiration: Knowledge. Dirk Dreamer (Male, Virgo), Darren and Darleen (née Matlapin) Dreamer's son. Does well in school and dates Lilith Pleasant. Aspiration: Fortune. Goth

Cassandra Goth (Female, Virgo), Bella and Mortimer Goth's adult daughter. She is generally Neat and occasionally playful. She is the older sister of (far younger) Alexander Goth. Engaged to Don Lothario. Works as a Field Researcher in the Science track. Aspiration: Family. Mortimer Goth (Male, Cancer), elderly father of Cassandra Goth and Alexander Goth. He was the husband of Bella Goth in The Sims 1 and is currently involved with much younger Dina Caliente, who is even a little younger than his own daughter Cassandra. Now retired from his job as a Mad Scientist in the Science track. Aspiration: Knowledge. Alexander Goth (Male, Cancer), younger brother of Cassandra Goth and child of Mortimer Goth and Bella Goth. Has the same personality traits as Mortimer and studies well in a private school. Aspiration: Grow Up. Bella Goth (Female, Cancer), The wife of Mortimer Goth and the mother of Alexander and Cassandra and is the sister to deceased Michael Bachelor. She does exist in pleasantview, but is hidden and has no personality traits and can only be found using cheats and 3rd-party programs - forcing players to go and find the Strangetown version of Bella, Although some players prefer to play this Bella and consider her "the real one" as the Bella in strangetown has no connection to pleasantview and is not tied with the Goth/Bachelor family tree. It is shown in the Photo Album and Memory Panel of Don Lothario that Don had attempted to do some romantic interactions with Bella - Which she didn't accept and would then dissapear mysteriously on his deck. Kaylynn Langerak (Female, Aquarius), a NPC maid, but is available to move into a playable family, like all NPCs in The Sims 2. In love with Daniel Pleasant and Don Lothario. Aspiration: Family. Lothario

Don Lothario (Male, Leo), the town casanova. In love with Nina Caliente, Dina Caliente (secretly), and Kaylynn Langerak; also engaged with Cassandra Goth. Don is very active and outgoing, and really sloppy. His lifestyle and name may be based on the famous fictional womanizer Don Juan. Enemy to Mortimer Goth. He works as an Intern in the Medicine track. Aspiration: Romance. Oldie

Herb Oldie (Male, Libra), husband of Coral Oldie and adoptive father of Mary-Sue Pleasant. Aspiration: Romance. Coral Oldie (Female, Virgo), born Coral Ruggbyrne, wife of Herb Oldie and adoptive mother of Mary-Sue Pleasant. Aspiration: Family. Pleasant

Daniel Pleasant (Male, Virgo), husband of Mary-Sue and father of twins, Angela and Lilith. Also having an affair with Kaylynn Langerak. Works as an Assistant Coach in the Athletics track. Enemy to Dustin Broke. Aspiration: Romance. Mary-Sue Pleasant (Female, Gemini), maiden name Mary-Sue Oldie, wife of Daniel and mother of twins Angela and Lilith. She was adopted by the Oldies. Works as an Intern in the Politics track. Aspiration: Fortune. Angela Pleasant (Female, Aquarius), is the more well-behaved, "preppy" Pleasant twin, she is one of the reasons why she is angry at her family cause Lillith feels insecre over her. and gets the most attention from Daniel and Mary-Sue. She is described as "patient" and gets far better grades and popularity at school compared to Lilith. Dating Dustin Broke and is an enemy to twin sister Lilith. Aspiration: Popularity. The twins' names are, of course, symbolic of their behavior. Lilith Pleasant (Female, Aquarius), described as a polar opposite of Angela, Lilith is a depressed goth girl faring badly in school and wearing black clothing and makeup. She is also considered the "neglected twin", and isn't well-liked by her own family. Lilith is dating Dirk Dreamer and is an enemy to twin sister. Angela. Aspiration: Popularity.

Strangetown Almost everyone in Strangetown is related, with the crux of their relationships being Pollination Tech#9.

Pollination Tech#9 had a career in managing test subjects, namely Sims. He abducted them in ships and used them for experiments resembling those done by aliens in pop culture. He has since then settled down on Earth with a wife and two legitimate children, and a younger Pollination Technician is also responsible for all alien abductions in The Sims 2 e.g. abducting Bella Goth.

Pollination Tech#9 has managed to keep his activities secret from nearly everyone else in the neighborhood, except for General Buzz Grunt, who desires to prove that Pollination Tech#9 is an alien. Reminiscent of the character Dib in Invader Zim, nobody else seems interested in Grunt's claims. Grunt's seeming paranoia about Pollination Tech#9 eventually caused his wife to divorce him, leaving him to raise their children on his own.

As a military man, Grunt is not always the father figure his children desire. Although his son Tank Grunt obviously wants to follow in his father's footsteps, his other sons Ripp and Buck do not.

General Buzz has also had various conflicts with Pollination Tech#9, who recognizes that the general seeks to expose him as an alien. So far, Grunt has failed in this goal.

The Beaker family consists of husband and wife Loki and Circe Beaker, who both work in the field of science. They have adopted Nervous Subject, a hyper-active young man who is the main test subject in many of their dangerous science experiments. Nervous Subject is actually the son of the Grim Reaper, though he does not realize this.

The Curious Family also has a fascination with science, though unlike the Beakers, brothers Pascal, Lazlo, and Vicund do not see fit to torture innocent Sims. Their house is equipped with a laboratory and research deck for their experiments. The family also includes three sisters, the oldest of whom, Jenny Smith, is married to Pollination Tech#9. The two half-sisters Lola and Chole are actually daughters of the Curious brothers' father, who was abducted by Pollination Tech#9 and impregnated with the two girls. Pascal later endured the same fate, being adbucted and impregnated by the current Pollination Technician. It has been a blessing and a curse for the Curious family to have this strange relationship with aliens.

The Specters could be considered the most diverse family in town. Olive, an elder that has characteristics similar to Gloria Swanson's character, (Norma Desmond), from the film Sunset Boulevard. Her official profile in the game also seems to hint that she is a practitioner in voodoo or black magic. She has had to grapple with many personal demons throughout her own life. For instance, 60 years earlier, she was left at the altar by her then husband-to-be. Then came a brief relationship with the Grim Reaper, resulting in the birth of Nervous Subject; neglect on the part of both parents led to the child's being adopted by the Beakers. More recently, Olive is plagued by rumors that she murders tresspassers on her property, as she has sixteen deceased Sims buried in her front yard.

Olive has recently taken in her niece Ophelia, who has a close relationship with Johnny Smith, the son of Pollination Tech#9. Although Ophelia knows the truth about PT#9, she accepts Johnny for who he really is, and the two plan to get married after they have both reached adulthood.

At the start of this game Johnny Smith is turning 18 and entering that stage of life. With his mix of alien and human blood, Johnny has his father's green skin, but the facial features of his sim mother. Jill, his younger sister, is still growing up, but already bears much more of a resemblance to her mother Jenny than to her alien father.

Despite all this turmoil, reaching back nearly 70 years, Strangetown has managed to remain secluded from the outside world and the storm of media attention that would surely follow the truth about some of its inhabitants and become public knowledge.

Beaker

Loki Beaker (Male, Capricorn), husband of Circe and enemy to Pascal Curious. Works as an Inventor in the Science track. Aspiration: Knowledge. Circe Beaker (Female, Capricorn), born Circe Salamis, wife of Loki. Works as an Intern in the Medicine track. Previously in love with Vidcund Curious. Aspiration: Fortune. Nervous Subject (Male, Aquarius), son of Olive Specter and possibly The Grim Reaper. He was taken by Social Worker when he was a baby. Moved in with Circe and Loki. Aspiration: Family. Curious

Pascal Curious (Male, Scorpio), brainy man who has met aliens and is currently pregnant with a green-skinned half-alien baby, who may be either male or female. Works as a Lab Assistant in the Science track. Aspiration: Knowledge. Vidcund Curious (Male, Scorpio), brother of Pascal and Lazlo. Previously in love with Circe Beaker but still has a crush on her. Works as a Lab Assistant in the Science track. Aspiration: Knowledge. Lazlo Curious (Male, Sagittarius), brother of Pascal and Vidcund. Has crush on an NPC neighbor named Crystal Vu. General Buzz Grunt (Male, Leo), local neighborhood general who broke up with (now deceased) Lyla Grunt (née Vandermorgan). Had also won fights as a teen with Loki Beaker and the Curious brothers (all scientists as adults and thus were presumably "nerds" in school). Worst enemy of Pollination Tech#9 Smith, who was the only individual to defeat General Buzz in a fight. Currently holds a job as a General in the Military track. Aspiration: Popularity. Tank Grunt (Male, Capricorn), son of General Buzz. His father has high expectations of him; he is disappointed when Tank doesn't live up to them. Enemy to Johnny Smith. Aspiration: Popularity. Olive Specter (Female, Scorpio), born Olive Muenda, elderly lady nearing her death. Was the mother of Nervous Subject, whom Olive lost to social service when Nervous was a baby. Also believed to have murdered 16 Sims who are all buried in her yard (Danielle Greaves [a Pizza Delivery woman], Lyla Grunt [mother of Tank, Ripp and Buck Grunt], a man named Patrick Jones and a woman called Vicki Sims). Most of the other people include her ex-husbands (Hugh Thanasia, Earl E DeMise, Rigger Mortis, and Ichabod Specter). Works as a Professional Party Guest in Slacker track. Aspiration: Knowledge. Ophelia Nigmos (Female, Virgo), daughter of deceased parents Creon and Willow (née Muenda) Nigmos, orphaned teenage niece of Olive Specter. Currently dating Johnny Smith. Aspiration: Family.

Veronaville The names of all the Sims in Veronaville are based on characters from the plays of William Shakespeare. The themes, however, can be said to be more in keeping with other stories in the world of The Sims. Conflicts in this neighborhood stretched back over 70 years before the game takes place.

The rivalry between Consort Capp and Patrizio Monty dates back to the Vintage Years. At the time Consort and Patrizio were working as golf caddies at a local country club. Both men fell in love with Contessa Capp, and their friendship did not survive their struggles to possess her. Eventually Contessa chose Consort Thebe over Patrizio Monty. Capp may also be responsible for having Monty fired from his job at the country club. Since then the two families have effectively been at war with each other for eighty years, all the while both amassing wealth and standing in the community.

The Summerdream family -- Oberon, Titania, and their two adopted children -- have managed to stay neutral in the conflict between the Capps and the Montys, though their friendships with both families has resulted in pressure to pick one side or another.

The Capp and Monty families also have Romeo and Juliet, respectively, two love birds, the two of whom from seperate the families. This provides a basis for the player to reunite the warring families, if desired.

Capp

Consort Capp (Male, Scorpio), born Consort Thebe, widower, grandfather and guardian of orphaned teenagers Tybalt, Juliette and Hermia Capp. Enemy to Romeo, Antonio, Bianca, Isabella and Patrizio Monty. The Sims 2: Nightlife

Downtown The Downtown section in The Sims 2: Nightlife is similar to the one in The Sims: Hot Date among the same concept brought upon by Maxis.

Though unlike Hot Date, Nightlife has a much more detailed cityscape. The town itself also includes extra features that create a city, such as Resturants, Nightclubs, Bowling Allies, Bars, and Entertaiment Complexes. Although this game has no new families, it does have a cast of new characters that can be moved into a family and can overall help or hinder a Sim's dating experience.

A new feature similar to The Sims: Makin' Magic is the Vampire citizens, who become playable once you marry one. This theme has a Gothier approach to the fan-based game.

Mrs. Crumplebottom, who appeared in the first game, returns and is still alive after all these years. Though tradtionally she always gives every Sim she comes across to a hard time. She is a parody to the Grouchy old Lady you see occasionally while in a Resturant or a Bar.

The Fortune Teller or Matchmaker can be both nice and cruel; it depends on if you have the money for her to come in contact with your soul mate. If you have 5,000 Simoleons to pay her, she will get ahold of your soul mate, meaning the Sim that has the most in common with another. But if you are too cheap, she will get ahold of someone who is the polar opposite of your Sim.

You can also buy Love Potions and other items through the Matchmaker service.

Count and Countessa (Non-Playable, Unless you Marry him or her) Vampire Sims who will bite the necks of other Sims and turn them into vampires as well if the relationship is strong enough. Only seen at night. Mrs. Crumplebottom (Non-Playable) Walks around dowtown lots and chastises Sims who show public displays of affection. The Diva and Mr. Big (Non-Playable, Unless you Marry him or her) Two very rich Sims who are very hard to find and even tougher to date. The Slobs (Non-Playable, Unless you Marry him or her) Polar opposites of The Diva and Mr. Big. Waiter staff (Non-Playable, Unless you Marry him or her) Those working in restaruants, bars, and other downtown establishments.

The Sims 2: Open for Business

Bluewater Village The town itself is a business town romping much of the commercialized towns that mainly feature entertainment complexes and retail stores. However, there are families and friends who also inhabit the town making the town less competitive when it comes to Business.

The town itself has playable Sims that have already acquired businesses for you to manage or use to destroy there hopes and dreams, as it is the players option.

Businesses include clothing Stores, electronic stores, interior stores, a flower store, a bakery, and restaurants which are located outside of Bluewater Village and in the Downtown section of the game. The Sims that own these buisnesses usually have a long heritige with businesses or money Aspirations.

The Ramirez Family owns a prestigous furniture and interior store called Ramirez's Fine Funiture. Led by Checo Ramirez, who has big Money Aspirations, and his associate and wife Lisa Ramirez. The success of their Furniture Store has led them to live a successful upper-class lifestyle. Their daughter Tessa Ramirez has high hopes of following in her father's footsteps.

Then there's the Jacquets. Gilbert, who owns a Bakery, is encouraged by his mother Denise to pursue this passion. Gilbert's father, the deceased 5-Star Baker Yves Jacquet died, and left his passion for his son Gilbert to look after.

Florence owns a home business as a professional Florist. She spends a lot of her time tending the house on account of managing a home buisness and living in it at the same time.

Then there is Malcolm Landgrabb IV. His great-grandfather was in The Sims: Bustin' Out, and was the main villain in the game. Now Malcom is the richest man in Bluewater Village who owns and manages many up and coming businesses.

He also has traits similar to his Grandfather which include Greed, Ruthlessness, Power, and a Big Ego.

The Tinker Family specializes in making toys for Big Time Toy Manufactures. They too have a Home Business. The two toy makers Stephen and Wanda spend most of there time at home building toys, while there daughter Melody is hoping for a career as an Artist.

Each family is involved with the Business trend one way or another in the town of Bluewater Village.
