2 Pistols' first success with a single came with an independent record called "Dirty Foot," which he wrote while still in high school and distributed in the Tarpon Springs area, at the urging of his cousin. After hearing it played in a local dance club and then witnessing another rapper's performance, 2 Pistols had his first chance to perform on-stage.
“The guy was just not that good,” he explains. “And he could tell by my face that I thought he was whack. So he looks down at me in the crowd and asks me if I think I could do better. I said ‘hell yeah, I could!’”
After taking the stage and performing his own single ("Dirty Foot"), 2 Pistols' confidence in his abilities grew to a point that he began to take his chances at making a career of music seriously.
He started out, as more than a few successful artists have, by acting as a local promoter, bringing acts such as Plies, Da Shop Boyz, T-Pain, and Lil Boosie to the Tampa area. Through these shows, he began making connections to powerful individuals in the music industry, which eventually led to his signing with Universal and his collaboration with T-Pain, "She Got It," which is currently in the top 10 on the Rhythmic chart.[2]
His debut album, Death Before Dishonor, is scheduled for release on June 17, 2008 and features production from the Grammy-winning J.U.S.T.I.C.E League, Da Honorable C.N.O.T.E and other up and comming producers. Other confirmed tracks from the album include "Blinded" - which features samples from the movie "Blow" - as well as "You Know Me," in addition to "She Got It."
