28th Alberta general election

The 28th general election in Alberta, Canada, will take place when the Premier formally advises Lieutenant Governor to dissolve the Legislative Assembly. The governing Progressive Conservatives led by the Premier Ed Stelmach will seek a thirteenth term in office.

A general election must be held at least once every five years, meaning that the election must take place in 2013 at the latest. The election will take place using the First-Past-The-Post voting system.
