The mission of the 267th Quartermaster Company (Petroleum Operating) is to design, construct, and operate up to ninety miles of high pressure petroleum pipeline in conjunction with a tactical petroleum terminal to receive, issue and store bulk petroleum products in a wartime environment.

The 267th Quartermaster Company was constituted on 20 April 1943 as the 267th Quartermaster Bakery Company (Mobile) in the Regular Army. The unit was activated 8 May 1943 in Oran, Algeria. The unit was inactivated 16 June 1946 in Leghorn, Italy.
The 267th Quartermaster Company was reorganized and redesignated as the 267th Quartermaster Company (Petroleum Operating). The unit was activated on 11 August 1967 at Fort Lee, VA.
