I'm removing the "Reception" area.
Not only does it completely lose objectivity, but it's just an thinly-veiled attack.
[edit] 15 Months?
Where did the idea of 15 months come into play? It's always been 18 months unless in the case of Seasons 2 & 3, where it was a three year gap. I hope it wasn't a result of the Day IV Prequel, which took place 3 months AFTER Day III, but a year before Day IV.
According to the Day 4 Prequel, the first scene (the firing) took place three months AFTER Day 3, but then the next scenes (the border crossing) begin a year before Day 4. By the logic that it was three months PLUS the year (making it 15 months), then it would mean that the firing and the crossing took place the same day, which could not have happened. In actuality, the firing & the crossing are separated by about three months.
Also, there are several instances where they say Day 3 took place "a year and a half ago" throughout the fourth season.

In the episode summary, it was written that the man taken from the chinese consulate was tortured. He is actually one of the few people in the show not tortured. I changed it but if anyone disagrees please discuss here.--Levitica 12:28, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Season 4 was pathetic
I got doen with Season 1,2 and 3 recently and then saw season 4. It was sad and pathetic and something out of a c rate hollywood movie or something like an Indian bollywood movie.
In previous seasons, things were realistic and the tragedies were felt and shared by the audience. In addition the scenarios were believeable and Jack Bauer equally human and believeable. He did what needed to be done in the most strenous situations but still was a man of honor and principle.
In season 4 everything is fantasy like. Bauer is a superhero, Tony's wife left him after he saved her life? (yeah right). Jack gets involved with a married woman? it is so not like him. On top of that contrast the believability of the mid eastern terrorsist of season 2 (quite believable) to that of season 4! A mother giving her son a pistol to shoot his beautiful american girlfriend??? Ok now read the following points which basically hint strongly that this series was funded and made by people who pandere to the Bush admin POV:
- Typical nonsense and phobia so rampant in right wing media which uses paranoia and fear tactics to turn the citizenry into docile sheep and take out their anger on a scapegoat i:e even the most normal looking , freindly, well to do, well dressed neighbours who are muslims are sleeper cells. And this season depicts just that.
- Whenever the president or CTU is watching the news it is ALWAYS FOX news but when terrorists are watching the news it is CNN.
- Legitimizing he use of torture like abu ghraib.
- degrading the character of Jack Bauer hitherto an honorable brave soldier into a immoral, trigger happy, necrophile and depicting this chracter as necessary.
- secretary of defense (lol, he is as pathetic as Rumsfeld).
- The secretary of defense shouting to his captors : "Is this what your religion teaches you?" WTF? why even bring this issue up? In season 3 and season 4 as well as season 2 no one said anything about religion. Again an attempt to tie in resentment against Bush and the US with irratinal fear tactics of tying biblical prophecies, and Saddam, abu ghraib, Islam and American muslims into one big fallaciouis cluster f**ck so that people keep surendering skepticism and power to the fascists up above.
Other reasons I didnot like this season:
- Evrything happens at the last second, like tony showing up to save lives, reactors being shut down, Jack showing up to save the secretary etc.
- The sick depiction of Jack.
- Getting him involved with a married woman and then torturing her husband.
- Absence of other main character until much later and perhaps save for Tony their pathetic season debut.
I am onto Season 5 now....waiting for it to comeout on DVD. I hope and pray this series doesnot goto shi8 like everything else the socialist mercantilist conservative touch in this country. Omerlives 00:58, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
I'm not sure we're supposed to be discussing our views on the series here, so someone who knows the rules better is welcome to delte both mine and the above post if it's inappropriate, but I feel I need to respond to some of Omerlives's points.
- The secretary of defence being pathetic: This is surely anti-Republican, and you are arguing the show is in favour of the Republican agenda. Palmer is obviously a democrat, and in series four the opposite party have taken over. This is showing the Republicans as weak, if he is pathetic.
- Religion was absolutely mentioned in other serieses. Remember when Kate Warner and Jack were in the Mosque in series two, and they got a immam to talk to a terrorist in the way "no one else could"?
- Audrey is a married woman legally, but she has been seperated from her husband for a year. That you find this morally dubious seems to make you a bit of a republican (I'm not insulting Republicans - it's just that this guy seems to hate them).
- The character of Audrey and also the secretary's son meant that torture was questioned a lot more. Audrey represented the view point that what Jack did was wrong - this has not been represented before.
- The show "speaks out" regularly against racists who villify innocent people. Do you remember the men in the shop who fought with Jack in series five, or that agent who was beaten up by racists (series two, I think)? Levitica 00:32, 18 August 2006 (UTC)

What's going on? why has the year each season is presumed to take place in changed?
I don't quite understand your question as 24 is supposed to take place in exactly one day, i.e. 24 hours, so your mention of a year is a little bewildering.
I mean the presumed year each season takes place. i.e. "Based on the clues from the previous season. Day 4 takes place in year ____". It doesn't really matter now anyway. Everything was fixed. -Order_66
[edit] Turkish Language
In the Trivia section it says that Turkish is written with the Roman alphabet but the posters behind Marwan are in Arabic script. Is it worth mentioning that pre 1922, I think, Turkish was written in the Arabic script?
- It's true that the Roman alphabet was adopted sort of relatively recently in Turkey, but it remains that at this point the Arabic alphabet isn't used to communicate Turkish and it's very, very doubtful this was anything but a mistake on the part of the writers of the show who weren't familiar with the linguistic differences between the languages. I think it's more of a question as to whether pointing out these mistakes is really "Trivia", but they are correct. Also, given that the posters read "Death to America" in Arabic, not Turkish (at least, I don't think so), I guess it's arguable the characters could have been using Arabic purposefully despite being Turkish. But the idea that one could confuse Turkish and Arabic is incorrect, as the article states, because the Arabic alphabet just isn't used anymore for Turkish.

- This is all true. But another point has to be that we do not know for sure that any of the terrorists other than Tomas are Turkish. They were never said to be. Just because one of the terrorists was a Turkish National, doesn't mean they all were.

[edit] Chloe's appearances
It says in the trivia section that Chloe appears in every single episode of season 4. I just watched episode 7 & 8 and realised that there were no appearances made by Chloe, neither in the 'Previously on 24' section, nor in the main episode. Am I missing something here? Where did that bit of trivia come from?

I actually agree with Asyndeton's edits to my contributions. Sincere thanks. He appropriately removed my idea of a quotable moment in the 12-1AM episode. There are many quotable lines from 24 and they probably belong in Wiki 24.

[edit] Choice versus Decline
I disagree with the recent change of the subsection heading from "Jack Bauer's Moral Choices" to "Jack Bauer's Moral Decline". His difficult choices were made for a greater good, saving millions by risking the life of one in the case of Paul Raines. To be considered a "moral decline" his actions would benefit himself personally, as in the case of a mobster. What do you think? Gouveia2 16:34, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
